Where do you find ones that don't cost an arm and a leg (I know there are fancy vegan ties for $50)? Every time Brian has to buy fancy work clothes, we look at ties and they are ALL silk. I think that it would be easier to find polyester ones or something so they'd be cheaper, but no. Brian isn't vegan, but when it comes to clothes and stuff he avoids animal products, so right now he has one tie that he bought like, three years ago for a wedding.

How does he feel about recycled or thrifted items?

I'm not sure how I feel about recycled silk items, but overall it's probably a win since reusing things instead of throwing them away is great.

I've seen bamboo ties in stores, but they seem to be expensive

http://www.ties4guys.com/cart.php?m=product_list&c=5 (I've never actually bought from there; I just googled polyester ties and that was one of the first results.)

Here are some basic cotton neckties for about $22, with shipping: http://www.etsy.com/shop/TieObsessed?section_id=8032192

Another etsy shop called Me & Matilda seems to have all linen, cotton, or microfiber ties...They're less than $30 each. I haven't looked through all 500 some-odd of them, but here are some of them:

Yeah, I've found some really cool ones on Etsy before but when we needed them in a hurry I've had good luck searching through ALL the ties at Macy's until I find a polyester one. They are like needles in haystacks, but I know I found a couple last year and paid under $20 a piece with coupons/sales. I'm pretty sure at least one of them was Charter Club brand. Maybe Macy's online has something?

I'll check Macy's, I was specifically wondering about brick and mortar stores.

Finding dudes clothes at thrift stores here is hard! It's all shitty t-shirts and old-man-but-not-in-the-cool-vintage-way clothes.
