Ok so we have a bit of interest, if you are planning on coming, please post here. If you are maybes, then post as well but I'd like to know any definites as I'd like to book the campground this week. It sounds like we may need 3 campsites, depending on who is coming.

Details:
Camping: August 3rd to 5th

We generally have a few extra tents so that shouldn't be an issue but let me know if you will be bringing your own. You will need to bring a sleeping bag and a sleeping pad is suggested.

Meals: We do potluck type meals but can also eat out a couple times in Asheville (highly recommended)

Activities: Swimming (bring bathing suit if interested), Hiking (normal sneakers will do), Reading (bring your own books or visit used bookstore in Asheville), Napping (we might have a few hammocks for this), Shopping, Sipping on vegan hot cocoa in Asheville, Eating Ice cream in Asheville, hanging out and talking, etc.

Flying into Asheville: Asheville has an airport and we have picked up many a people from there so let us know when you are flying in and out.

My husband and I will stay in Asheville a little longer than the weekend but not sure how long as of right now. We will rent a van and drive interested parties down from the MD/DC area but remember you are stuck with us if you join the happy hippy van (or more like the soccer mom looking van).

Visitors: If you are in the Asheville area and want to visit for the day, let us know. We can share our contact info. Saturday, the 4th, would be a good day to visit.

I am only a maybe and can make other arrangements for sleeping if y'all get full up.

I am a definitely maybe for visiting, and Saturdays are great, so long as nothing comes up between now and then, but I'm not committing to camping that far off as we have zero supplies.

So I booked 2 campsites. That should cover at least the initial interest. My husband and I are planning to be there Friday morning and leave Monday morning. I booked 1 campsite with those dates and another with Friday to Sunday since that seems to be the typical time frame. Extending a day isn't a problem once you have the Friday/Saturday nights booked.

I am a tentative yes. I am trying to figure out a way to incorporate a trip to philly and this in to the same week/weekend off I would have to fly from philly due to time constraints so I am still trying to figure out money and timing but I would very very much like to be there!

Damnit. If it were the week before, wyvern and I would try to make it, but that's during my hell week of working horrific 12-hour shifts 10 days in a row at a music festival.

I am an unlikely. It's mostly financial ;( There is always a chance that I could show up, however. If I don't get to feed Lycophyte garnish after eating tempeh wings, I might cry.

Don't make me set up the Vantine/pandacookie scholarship fund because I'll totally do it. It is my vacation damnit and it is cheaper than me visiting both of you :)

I'm leaning more toward yes now, but I still need to work out some details. I'll be in DC until July 28, so I'm thinking about stopping at a few places in between DC and Asheville on the way down, but I need to figure out how that will work, money-wise.

Jilly, how are you getting there?

Last year Jilly took the MegaBus into DC and we drove onwards to Asheville, stopping the night just short of Asheville. The year before that, Jilly and Bergedy drove to our house, stayed the night and then we drove to Asheville in the morning. We are flexible. We are renting a van regardless. We have a guest room with a day bed that folds out to a king. We also have a queen size air mattress and a couch. It is an option, Mr Nil and I are open to driving down with whoever, Mr Nil just wants as many people there as possible.

The past two years I flew to be away from home for as short a time as possible, but this year I have more time than money. A road trip sounds great.
I am a barring-any-unforseen-circumstance yes.
