I was really confused about the burning thing too. I asked my husband (he's read the books) and he explained it to me - they left out the explanation from the show. I don't want to say anything since this is show-only.
Yeah, that was super confusing! Can you put it in a spoiler with big letters that say "THIS IS THE EXPLANATION FOR WHO BURNED DOWN WINTERFELL FROM THE BOOKS?" Cause I would like to know and I don't think that would ruin anything.
Other confusing things: Why was Stanus back home? And what the fork did he see in the fire? Why can't we see? Was it dragons? Why doesn't anyone want to cross the narrow sea? Not Arya, not Tyrion, no one. There are plenty of good reasons to! And maybe you'll see dragons! Why was Jon Snow freed after killing that dude? I kind of got it, but not really. Also, now that I've seen his Wildling girlfriend on Downton Abbey it's really confusing to watch her here. She acts exactly the same! I hope they do it as much as I hoped for Eric & Sookie to do it. And I can't wait for Jon Snow to ride a dragon. Why wasn't Rob's wedding officiated by dragons?
I loooved when they let Greyjoy give that speech and then conked him out. And I looooove BABY DRAGONS!!!!!
I can't wait for next season.
Oh ETA: one more thing, why does Sansa think she can just do what she wants now that Joffrey has another girl? That was odd. Is she the stupidest or the smartest?
PS Dragons.
In the last scene of the previous episode we saw Stanus's men grabbing him and pulling him away. At first I thought it was him being captured, but I think that was his men grabbing him and getting him the fork outta there.
I think Arya just wants to find her family and Tyrion still just wants to win his father's love or some shiitake, which is dumb as hell, or at least prove that he's smarter than they are. He should definitely have left with Shae. That would have been the smart move.
the jon thing was confusing to me, too, but I guess since he didn't kill Gwen AND he killed the other guy from the wall they decided he was on their side.
Sansa is getting smarter. I think she was just caught off guard in a moment of happiness. I didn't think she really thought joffrey would let her leave. i think she was thinking she might be able to sneak away now that she will be less important.
Also, i really loved how easy it was for dany to get the dragons back. all they really had going for them at the house of the undying were mind games and she didn't fall for them! I keep saying DRACARIS under my breath, hoping someone around me will breathe fire. that would be awesome.

yeah, i think sansa was only walking away so her gigantic sigh of relief wouldn't have been seen by everyone.

The Jon thing was explained a little better in the books. I'll spoiler it, even though it's all stuff that was shown on screen, just with a bit more detail...
So the other Night's Watch guy is Qhorin Halfhand, a ranger from of one of the other castles on the Wall. He essentially asked Jon to kill him so it looks like Jon has betrayed the Night's Watch. Qhorin's plan is that Jon can now infiltrate the Wildlings, learn all of Mance Rayder's plans and relay them back to the rest of the Watch.

I'm currently rewatching Doctor Who episodes while knitting, and I just saw "The Time of Angels" / "Flesh and Stone", and Octavian (the cleric/soldier) is Iain Glen (Ser Jorah Mormont, Daenerys Targaryen's advisor). I was busy embroidering a dinosaur onto a baby cardigan, so I wasn't even looking, and I recognized him by his voice! My BF didn't even recognize him, but I think he does a very good job and deserves more recognition (very much like his characters). And he's got a great voice.

he was also in Downton Abbey and Spooks (fab fab show not sure if big over the pond) - agreed he should get more credit, he's a good actor!

Oh, and also I cannot STAND Margaery Tyrell because the actress that is playing her was Anne Boleyn in The Tudors and Anne was so mean to poor queen Katherine. I get ragey every time she is on the screen.
Haha yeah I think she has been typecast as "girl who desperately wants to be queen." She was good as Anne Boleyn, though.

This shiitake is bananas! I love it! OH man it was so good. I freaking love love Jaqen. When he did the face change man alive that was cool. I am so pleased with this series. Except I hate Theon with every fiber of my being. I actually hate him more than Joffrey. Joffrey is just pure evil, so I get that he's going to remain evil and only do evil things. But Theon shouldn't be! He started good. And he's just a cunty croissant croissant who wants to please his father by killing little children and ruining villages. What a forking crasshole. I can't wait for him to be gone. He's gross. I can't wait for big dragons to breathe fire on all the bad people!

I just rewatched both seasons, after reading through the first two books and most of the third one. I understand waaaay more now. They don't explain things very well in the show, or it just happens so fast that you don't always have time to get what's going on.

Ack! I need to finish season 2!
