I'm newly obsessed, and need to know where I can get some Korean food. I've been to Biwa and thought the bibimbap was good, but I want to try other things! And for less money! My searches are yielding few results. Anyone know of any good spots?

I don't think I've had much Korean out in Portland besides cart food (speaking of...is the kimchi at Koi Fusion vegan these days? Is this place on Alberta new? http://yogio.weebly.com/menu.html.. I really just came in here to tell you all that you should go to the 52nd Tofu House in Seattle. It is sooooo good. I go there anytime I can stay up late enough.

Right? I was outside the restaurant making sad faces and one of the neighbors came out and said, "Are you vegan? That's totally a bummer for you that it's closed." Tell me about it, dude.

This place is outside of Olympia and is pretty vegan friendly.

The Noodle House cart on SW 10th & Washington is also Korean-run. There's maybe two vegan options, and they're pretty simple (which is good because there's a bit of a language concern), but dang, the noodles are so fresh and good.

I've heard that Toji on SE Hawthorne is NOT veg-friendly, but, I haven't been. Just word of mouth.

Someone asked on twitter about Koi Fusion's kimchi and they are not vegan.

I found a Vegan Kimchi vendor at Portland Farmers Market. I forgot their name, but they are the only Kimchi vendor there. I asked if their kimchis are vegan and they said yes. :D.

If you're thinking of the same kimchi vendor I am, you have to be sure you get the right jar of kimchi--they make a vegan version and a fish sauce version of at least their spicy cabbage.

Oooh good to know. It might be because I tried the Daikon one. I will double check before I buy one next time.
