I haven't been keeping up with the weather beyond my area, so I just came across this article about the flooding in Minnesota with some surprise. Apparently there have been mudslides and sinkholes, along with the flooding. The water has sadly drowned some animals at the Lake Superior Zoo, and it also swept a small boy into one of those underground drainage tunnels - but he's okay. The article goes over some details of what happened and overviews other events in the area.

Oh, and here's a trigger warning - for paragraph six regarding the birds. Also, there's a picture of a seal, and he looks pretty terrified. And there's a police spokesmen that refers to a polar bear as a thing, which bothered me. Also, if you have any aversion to natural disaster pictures, there are a few.

Here is the article.

I hope our PPKers in Minnesota are doing all right. :\

Weird! If you copy/paste the link you'll get the article but if you just click the hyperlink you won't get it. Here's the link: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/47889559/ns ... -JFV7VAa8A

I just read it and this is completely terrible! There's still animals trapped in cages under the water. I don't know much about zoos but I don't understand why they didn't have a system in place to deal with something like this, especially since they're located near a body of water which flooded into their zoo previously.

That sounds really understated, but I really have no other words. I'm sad and angry.
