That seems to be the general consensus - I think it was towards the end of May that Pottermore Insider said the second book was only a few weeks away. I'm hoping - I buzzed through the first book and now I've been kind of bored with it.

There's no 'unable to brew potions' club! Everyone is terrible at it!

It took me awhile, but I think I've got most of it figured out.

Your wand is kind of laying behind all the other ingredients, so it's a little hidden. I'm not sure if that's by design or just the way it got drawn.

When you're measuring ingredients, the important thing is that you pay attention to the little number right above the cauldron on the left. If the recipe says put 2 or 6 or whatever of something, you need to go by what that number says- not by however many you physically counted going in to the potion. I can't tell you how many times I messed something up until I figured that out.

Another trick is that if your cauldron is giving off green smoke, you've already messed it up. BUT, if you hit the back button (not the button on your browser, the 'back to potions' button in that part of the window), you start over from the last save point - whether that's the very beginning of your brewing or the time it has to sit before you come back. The only thing about that is that you're stuck on that potion, you can't choose another one. But it doesn't waste ingredients either and your cauldron doesn't explode.

I signed up to see what all the fuss was about, and I'm finding it surprisingly fun. I'm SickleSparks22415.
Wand: Sycamore and Unicorn, Twelve and a Quarter inches, Slightly Springy
House: Ravenclaw, of course.

I'm quite happy with my house assignment, although my wand seems kind of ordinary, but it's mine.

I'm not sure if they improved things in the last couple months, but I'm not having a hard time with potions. I've had a few failures, but mostly it's been ok. Then again I AM a Ravenclaw. Heh.

I need more practice at dueling though, my spell-mojo needs work.

I had tons of irrational failures with the potions. Like, I literally did nothing wrong and it all exploded on me. :/

Slytherin won the Pottermore house cup. Ravenclaw was third place. I'm just glad Gryffindor didn't win. I hope they never win. For round two, I am actually going to try to help this time. I've already earned 77 points for Ravenclaw (which is sad compared to the thousands of points others have earned already...but I do have a life).

Go Claws!
(last time I do that, I promise...unless we win the house cup this year)

How can someone have over 13,000 points in just one day? That is insane. Even if they were brewing potions non-stop they'd have to be winning over 100 duels an hour to get that score. Apparently Hufflepuff has be best cheaters around.

Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff are pretty much fist fighting for third place on Pottermore right now. By the way, the prize for Slytherin is to explore Chamber of Secrets before everyone else.

Wait, won't that make it a self-perpetuating system then, for them to keep winning?

There's a rumor that they will only get to explore chapter one. I know for sure that they will only get a 24 hour head start. I am hoping that while they are zoned in on CoS, the other three houses will be earning points and catching up during that 24 hours.

How can one cheat on Pottermore to begin with? Just getting it to function is enough of a pain in the bum for me.

I was mostly kidding, but I suppose people could be using scripts. The CAPTCHA they use is easy to bypass. What I don't understand is WHY someone would cheat. It's not like there is a prize other than bragging rights. But who would want to brag that they spend hours at a time playing a kids' game?

I fear Ravenclaw is doomed to finish last, since we have the smallest number of house members.

Hey! You're Ravenclaw too! I think we will cling to third place for dear life. Our numbers are slowly rising, though.

People cheat by opening other accounts and getting sorted into other houses. Then they duel themselves and their fellow house mates to up their points. I suspect that's how some people upped their points so quickly.

I'll bet it will be six weeks before they open the next four. I have a feeling they are going to try to spread the chapters out over the entire year. I hope I'm wrong. I've been waiting for book two since last July.

Pottermore is down. Perhaps they're adding more book two chapters?

In other news, potions are freakin' impossible.
