These arrived today (from eBay)
Image

They're completely unlike anything I've ever worn and I'm trying to get over those mutton dressed as lamb feelings... anyway. They're vegan (from what I read) and accommodate my too-wide feet. And they de-frumpify some of my vintage dresses which can look on the frumpy side without a sassy shoe.

Oh well, I guess I can always wear them if I dress up as Barbie...

I bought 3 pairs of shoes this week. I thought you all would appreciate that.

I, too, am wondering this! I need a pair of professional shoes, and I feel like I should wear heels because then I will be slightly taller than a child when I'm applying for jobs.

Understood! Shoes make such a difference. I think your Melissas look fun, and I hope you have great times together. No Barbie costumes necessary.

Oh my goodness. SO ADORABLE! What is the style called? I can't find them anywhere. I want. I need.

PS- I'm pretty sure that all Melissa shoes are vegan, as they're all made of bubblegum-scented plastic! I have two pairs and love them both dearly. Probably my favorite shoe brand.

Does anyone know of retro-ish sneaker brands that are vegan? Converse is I believe, but I loooooove these sneakers by Gola, but they have suede in them. So sad :(

Onitsuka tiger makes a few cute vegan sneakers. I like the Ultimate 81. It comes in a few vegan color schemes, but it's a little confusing. This link will hopefully help: http://vegankicks.com/tag/onitsuka-tiger/

Onitsuka Tigers Ultimate 81s have a lot of vegan colorways, they're my husbands go-to shoes. Saucony has a vegan retro line, it's very earthy hempy though. Adidas released some classic Sambas in canvas with synthetic accents http://vegankicks.com/2012/05/adidas-samba-canvas-pack/ and as far as I know classic Van's slip-ons are vegan.

Last night I was looking at running shoes on Zappos, because brightly colored running shoes are my go to easy to find comfy vegan shoe choice, and I pinned these to possibly buy because I thought they looked really 70s, both the shape and the colorway. http://www.zappos.com/asics-gel-flash-p ... ck#prdInfo

Guys, I want Creepers. So. Bad. I'm broke and Karmaloop took forever to process my return so I in turn had some other use for my money pop up. It sucks to be broke. I've been wearing the same things forever.

IIRC they had a couple of Gola options when I was poking around at Mooshoes.
