Peanut butter with toast (this order accurately reflects the quantities to use).

Every evening Molly has a wee bird sized piece of jelly toast. She calls for it if she doesn't get it by 6, and she snatches it and chortles while eating it.
She loves toast.

It stands in for bacon in a BLT-ish vegan sammich at one of my favourite restaurants. But you should do it in the oven, and keep an eye on it.

Not everywhere, and not anymore. Yeah, in one of the more ridiculous moves ever made by Congress, a bunch of congressmen got their pantaloons in a twist because France dared to object to Bush Jr.'s war on Iraq, and changed both French Fries and French Toast to Freedom Fries and Freedom Toast. This was only in the House (and a smattering of privately owned restaurants) and has since been reversed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_fries As far as I'm aware of it, the silliness was never embraced by the general public. ETA: And I've just discovered the pantaloon filter!

Ironically, neither item is actually French.

Toast is always the answer. This one stand at the farmer's market sells peach bellini jam. I mean, it's ridiculous on seedy bread with some EB.
Also, toast with EB, garlic paste, nooch, and smoked paprika. Party in my mouth.
I wish I'd brought more bread to work, so I could make toast right now. It's the first thing I'm having when I go home!

Toasted linseed bread with marmite; my theory is it provides all known vitamins and minerals. My apparently healthy children subsist on that, fruit and crisps so don't tell me different. La la la can't hear you!
