I will love you forever if you sign the equal marriage petition here. I know there are minimal Scottish nationals/residents on the ppk, but you don't need to live here to add your voice. The petition will be handed over to the Parliament on Monday and calls on them to:

1) Change the law to allow same-sex marriage and mixed-sex civil partnership.

2) Protect and extend freedom of religion and belief by allowing, but not requiring, religious and Humanist bodies to conduct same-sex marriages and/or register civil partnerships.

3) End the requirement for married transgender people to divorce before a full Gender Recognition Certificate can be issued.

It's only just over 10 years ago that teachers weren't even allowed to speak of homosexuality in schools here (no matter how badly pupils were being bullied), so this possibly being realised is just astounding to me. Please add your voice!

p.s. I know, I know that even having civil partnerships here is a huge step beyond what's going/not going down in a lot of the U.S. and many many other territories... but still. It would be just wonderful if this would pass. Wonderful.

Now, will you please come to Washington state real quick-like and register to vote? Our state legislature passed a marriage equality bill but the haterz have put a measure on the November ballot to repeal it a la California's Prop 8.

I'm on my way!!! I want to get to WA so bad. SO. BAD. What better reason!! Also, for REAL this shiitake shouldn't be down to a public vote. FOR. REAL.
