Ooooh look at the big man with a blog. :P Actually I'm totally going to follow this! This is exciting!
I miss Insanity! My ankle feels better but I don't think it's 100%, and Insanity would not be a kind reintroduction to action. I'll try something else tomorrow, maybe Cardio X and an easy yoga video to test it out.

Probably worry about that after you finish! :) Good luck.
I decided to do a test run of plyo circuit to see if my ankle was ok, and I got through it! (I mean I got through it ankle-wise, not that I made it through without stopping haha.) Yayyy!
Is ShaunT from Philly? He says "wuh-ter" and it just sounds familiar like he's my home boy.

I started P90X Lean on July 1st. I'm on day 5! I do it after I put my daughter to bed for the night.

I did Plyo Circuit today. Well, I did most of it. I wasn't feeling the end and needed to grab breakfast (which I'm doing now) and a shower before taking Kid to the doctor. It's been nearly 2 weeks but I already feel SO much better from doing 3/4 of the workout this morning.
Glad your ankle is doing better!

That's awesome Bekki! It really is amazing how good I feel after these workouts, considering how shitastic I feel during them!

I started p90x this Monday! I can hardly move..D: So..sore..The yoga today helped a bit, though!
I've been eating 1800 calories and am kind of scared of gaining weight..but I'm gonna stick with the program and see how it goes. I'll share my results with you all as I go along. :)

Thanks! Im feeling good. Well I was until I did Insanity. Now Im sore! I have a friend who invited me to it with him a few days a week. Im not following the program because I dont own them so Im sure I wont see the same results. But I figure even two of those workouts a week is better than nothing! I really am not in good enough shape for it yet. I think we did the cardio dvd and I barely made it through the warm up.

Yeah I think doing them at all is still better than any other workout. The warm-up is killer!
The only thing I don't like about Insanity is the contract-and-relax back stretch done when your knees are bent towards a squat. It doesn't do anything for me, so I've been doing cat stretches instead during that time. I love cat stretch.

I was confused as to why the stretch came after the warm up. And both sets of stretches were weird and not traditional at all!

Yeah I much prefer the stretching in P90X, but I guess when you are SO freaking warmed up in Insanity (where the warm-up is pretty much a workout, not just loosening up) then you don't need to stretch as much. Haha.

I really hate stretch after the intense warm-up. I get warming up a little, but with the way insanity goes my calves always cramp up really bad about halfway through and get better once they're stretched.
I'm glad I"m not the only one who doesn't get anything from the contract/relax thing...often I skip it and do additional hamstring or calf stretches...but maybe I should do cat.

I kind of like it because I need a rest after the warm-up! And yes try cat! It's so much better for my back, which I feel I need to take extra care of with all of this jumping. The other thing I have to do is about 5 minutes of jogging in place at the end, before the final stretch, because there's no real cool-down from the workout to the stretch.
Side note - what the fizzle is with the girl who spits on the gymnasium floor??!! gross.

Ewww, I never noticed that! In the second video there's a big production (as big of a production as can be had in a 30 second rest) of Shaun T running out of water and some girl pouring half of hers in his bottle. Because HE's the one working his asparagus off the entire time. Anyway, I have this thing about sharing food/drinks with people other than those in my house, so this icks me out.

I was totally waiting for someone in the video to puke! Surprised that they didn't provide trash cans for them.

I'm with you RJM. I always substitute other stretches for the Insanity ones, maybe 2 minutes less time too, then I hit forward and get going on the workout. At the end I just shut it off and do 1 cycle of the warmup again at pretty slow speed to let my heart rate drop -- except for the mummy kicks. So jogging, jumping jacks, the 2 heismans, and the 2 runs (butt kick, high knees). Then I do more of a P90X lower body stretch and call it a workout. I actually think it's a little more workout time, a little less stretch.
Oh and I nearly hocked over the edge of the balcony today! Barely held it down. Because of heat and altitude -- I'm at Lake Tahoe this weekend. And tomorrow is my last day of Round 5 of the X/Insanity hybrid -- almost 500 days of this stuff!

So I have changed my blog over to Insanity. I have started and stopped P90X so often that I am starting to hate it. And really I want to lose weight not put muscle on so I think Insanity will work better.
Mat.

Yeah I think Insanity is your friend for weight loss. On P90X I'm afraid you'd just build and lose muscle.

I didn't sleep at all last night so I absolutely could not work out today :( Ugh. Do you think with Insanity it doesn't help to do 2 in one day, to catch up? With P90X that was fine, bc it would be weights + cardio, but with 2 cardios it seems not so beneficial. Hrm.

Finished week 1 of P90X today. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be... except for ab ripper... ouch! I was only able to get through about 13 of each move. I did X stretch today and at one point when I was getting down on the mat, my abs cried out like noooo don't do that to us again.
