bringing this back up. If anyone has amazon prime it's on there for free now. You can also watch it for a few bucks if you aren't a prime member.

Yeah, if you go to the website it lists where you can stream it from. It's also available for purchase on DVD. Was lucky enough to catch a few screening a few months back. Personally, I think it's the best vegan doc out there right now. Earthlings is too graphic, Forks Over Knives feels too informative. Vegucated is informative and is graphic (only for about 60 seconds), but it also remains extremely entertaining and often very funny. Most open-minded omnivores would enjoy the movie as well.

I really wanna see this. But my Linuxy computer won't let me. No iTunes, no Amazon Prime. Well! Sooner or later I'll get it in my eyes.

I thought it was pretty good overall. fairly lighthearted (though, there was a slaughterhouse scene in the middle for a few minutes. that felt out of place) compared to most movies like this.. but it did seem verrry US-centric, and lacked a good deal of the 'how' to be vegan that might be helpful for newcomers. easy to criticise though, of course :) I'm glad it exists!

FInally watching it and I really like it! I think Forks Over Knives is boring, and Earthlings is seriously rough but this is good.
I was totally finding Tesla's friends annoying, but I really felt for Tesla when she was crying about how hard it was. It's exhausting for me sometimes just making stuff the kid and husband will eat.

I liked it, but I was disappointed by the end, in that none of them stayed vegan. Two of the three people went "mostly vegan," but none of them actually stuck with it. I watched it with two omnis and they were pretty much un-moved by it, because in many ways, it just reaffirmed everything they felt about how veganism is hard and inaccessible.

I also thought it was strange how she suggested people converting to veganism stock up on cheese and meat alternatives. I tend to avoid telling people to do that, as that seems to encourage comparison between the non-vegan and vegan versions. That being said though, it was entertaining and I liked watching it. It was interesting to see them take in information about animal slaughter, etc.

I thought that one lady with the kids stayed vegan? Yeah, I was pretty 'meh' on the ending as well, particularly after how passionate they all acted when they were learning about the animal cruelty.

It was interesting to see them take in information about animal slaughter, etc. I watched this recently as well after finding it streaming on Netflix. I thought that the older woman with the children stayed vegan? (And that the guy leaned vegan, and the younger girl was vegetarian?) When I started the film, I expected at least one to be a full blown carnivore again by the end, so three veggie friendly people was win in my mind. My personal feelings are that we should be trying to build a culinary culture that does more than trying to make veggie versions of meat based food. *But*, I think the alternatives are alright while people are transitioning, and frankly don't know what the hell they are doing. I've watched people try to make overnight transitions and retreat because they simply don't know what to do after they change.
