I participated in a Walking Dead craft swap on Craftster this month. One of the things I made was a knitted zombie hat:

I'm also addicted to making things for my hair and made these button and fabric hairclips.

And lastly I made a frog buddy (from my own pattern) for a knitting scholarship submission.

I agree. I love this thread. Everyone makes such wonderful things.

Bun, I really like that first hat you made. Do you have some sort of pattern for it ?

I sewed myself a tank top! (Please excuse the hideous lighting, my expression, and the mullet. I'm super tired but was too excited to wait until tomorrow.)

Had to modify it a bit after buying just a bit not enough fabric by about 1/4 yard...I had to split the front into two pieces but I don't think you can tell from a cursory glance!

The fabric is organic cotton, and the bias tape is made from some random yard sale fabric.

It's my first hat ever! Super easy. And way too big, haha. It's just a regular stockinette stitch (80 of 'em) on a 7 mm circular knitting needle. :)

Alright, last post before I leave for vacation! Sorry if I'm posting a lot of these. I didn't get to do ANY crafting for over a week, and I'm not going to be able to do much for the following week, so I've been going crazy this weekend.

I made this using this tutorial! And leftover fabric from my sewing machine case, and some random pink gingham I got in a yardsale bundle: http://www.skiptomylou.org/2009/01/14/h ... -tutorial/

Image

You can see that around hereish, I did a shitty job of sewing straight, but since this was my first time sewing in a zipper, I'm cutting myself some slack.

Maygles is talented!

I had a busy weekend! First I made two throw pillows out of my favorite fabric that I've had for 6 years!

Image

They've got exciting hidden zippers for easy switching out and cleaning!

Image

And then I made this top, which I knocked off from an Urban Outiffters top I already own. Fabric is a bamboo jersey burnout.

That fabric is so cute!
I've started the same dumb hat like three times over and I keep screwing it up. Frustrated!

Nooooo!
I just ran out of yarn after finishing the body of a baby poncho.
I checked, and the brand has been discontinued. (And I know I bought the last multipack at my yarn shop - I was just using up the leftovers, and they weren't enough...)
So now I have to find another cotton blend yarn in a halfway matching colourway to make the hood and front pocket.
*sulks*

...Maybe I'll just go with a dramatic colour change. Like from variegated blues to a solid orange. If nothing else helps.

Wild colour change it is!
The front of the poncho is mainly white and grey, and the back has a lot of blue (it's just the way my leftover mini-skeins knitted up), so maybe at least seen from the front it will not look too awkward with the hood and pocket knitted in the second colorway (which is turquoise/yellow/purple).

Here's the project page. I might just rename the whole project something like Mr Motley (but he's a really scary character, so I'd rather not):

This kid is going to look like a parrot.
Still need to assemble the parts and weave in the (millions of) ends.
Sorry about the blurry pic - it's quite dark already, and the shadows made the sofa look really yellow so I did a very hasty shop job around the hood. Better pics (hopefully!) when I'm done!

Image

Really... would you put this on your baby? Because I'm not so sure.
