Well I am definitely going to wait the 7 weeks for the virus to die, and I am going to bleach and disinfect every single thing in my apartment just to be sure...the coronavirus only turns into FIP, which is what killed Effie, 1-5% of the time, but kittens are the most vulnerable and I want to make sure I'm being safe. I kind of want a new kitten NOW but then I'm afraid maybe I would resent it for not being Effie? I don't know.

The rescue group we got Pants from just posted this on their Facebook page:  We have no more room for dogs here, but I swear if my parents weren't overseas I would be on the phone to them right now, demanding that they get this dog so we could come and play with her.

Ok just two more!  This one looks so much like Effie I actually started crying when I looked at her so...probably not a good idea.  Siamese mixes just keep catching my eye. They recommend adopting her with one of her brothers, though, and there is no way I can handle having three cats.

You are really making me want a kitten! So much cuteness.
Our Zoila is a siamese mix and looked just like the one above when we found her (someone dropped her off on a rural road in basically the middle of the woods). She's still the cutest thing ever, but also a total bisque. So, you know, it evens out.

It's a shame they cropped his ears, because cropping ears sucks, but also because if he had natural ears I suspect he would look very much like a basset hound on steroids. That hound has been hitting the gym hard!

I keep on seeing fluffy torties I want because fluffy torties are the best cats so of course I want them. But then of course I get super sad because I miss Effie. But I have looked at this kitten so many times.  She looks less like Effie than the other one...
