The chickpea hijaki and tofu dill sandwiches are two of my all-time favorite sandwich fillings. The coconut pancakes are something I make when I want to impress friends at brunch. All of the cookies are delicious, too.

There are still a lot of recipes here that i haven't tried that I want to.

Everything in this book is good (and I've made pretty much everything). My favorites are:

Falafel - I like to eat it on a Saturday - Sing with me, everyone.
Coconut Pancakes
Tofu and Potatoes in Miso Gravy
Jerk Seitan

I made the stroganoff last night--what a giant pot of awesomeness that is!

One change I made was that I blended the soymilk and mustard together with some raw cashews til smooth in the Vitamix before adding it to the sauce. It was SO creamy and rich tasting. mmmmm........

I love this book! I just had the chickpea broccoli casserole. The seitan recipe is my holy grail of seitan recipes IMO. Even my 4-year-old gobbles it up! I didn't think I could get a 4-year-old to devour seitan. I use the extra broth to make soup.

I made the sun-dried tomato & mushroom risotto for an omni Easter potluck (If you would like bad pictures, I have them) and it was a major hit. Lots of compliments, even from people I know to be wary of vegan food.

I'm convinced VWAV can do no wrong (she says as she microwaves a second helping of leftover risotto).

My cousin, who is not vegan, borrowed my copy of this book ages ago and never returned it. I may have already mentioned this. Last week, she invited omni people over for dinner and made the entire meal vegan. She did the black bean chipotle stew and the black bottom pie. She says she is buying herself VWAV for her birthday this year. I told her she should get Veganomicon while she's at it (before she borrows mine and never returns it).

My mum made me the pancakes as a reward for putting a lot of effort in to cleaning my room. They are quite possibly the best pancakes I have ever had.

I love the pumpkin seed crusted tofu. I usually cheat and just buy already roasted pumpkin seeds so the recipe comes together pretty quick.

I made my very first frittata the other morning when I was too lazy to make pie crust for quiche and couldn't be bothered to make a regular old scramble. I used broccoli in place of the asparagus, and it was super good. I still have everything to make it. That may be my breakfast again tomorrow. Nom!

I just made the ginger mango tofu last night and that was really good. I also really love the black-eyed pea and quinoa croquettes with mushroom sauce, the black bean and quinoa stuffed peppers, tempeh sausage gravy and biscuits, chickpea and broccoli casserole, pancakes and the pumpkin muffins!

I'm making the chickpea gravy tomorrow for the first time ... so excited! I might serve it over roasted potatoes instead of mashed though because I have a wicked craving for roasted potatoes!

I made the black out cake yesterday for my friends birthday. I've made it lots of times before but it went completely wrong this time. The sponge just wouldn't come out of the tin so I had to try & stick it together with jam & the icing. It's terrible! In fact it looks so terrible I can't help laughing hysterically every time I look at it. I can't wait to see my friends face when he sees it!

The chickpea gravy was amazing! My husband gobbled it up. I did serve it over roasted golden potatoes with some baked tofu and sautéed kale. You are a genius, Isa!

Fronch toast, oh my!

I made it once before but I think my bread was not the best, or something, and I am not a huge French toast fan. I was up very early this morning and had a two-day-old loaf of Ace Calabrese so decided to try it again. So good.

I don't like soggy bread so I was concerned it might be wet in the middle (gag) but it was perfect. The bread was nice and dry/stale and that I suppose is the key.

Chick pea gravy, blackout cake, and fronch toast are probably my very very most favorites.

I'm almost ashamed to admit it but I only made the chickpea gravy for the first time yesterday! I've had this book for years and never tried it. I don't know why cause it's forking delicious and now I want everything to be smothered in it's gravy goodness.

I want to try the Chickpea Hijiki sandwich filling but I'm not having any luck finding Hijiki. Is there another seaweed that can be substituted? I'm not very familiar with seaweed so I don't know which ones have the right flavor and which ones are too strong.

I always use nori, because hijiki is difficult to find around here. I just tear the nori into small pieces.

Yeah, I think I use kelp flakes. I start with half a teaspoon and work from there to taste for those sammiches.

Ohhh...I need to make this again soon, especially since mangos are really good right now.

I should make this! I've wanted to ever since I got the book, like five years ago, but I still haven't!
