After they've arrived, I guess ;). Not sure when that will be. Maybe two weeks from now? (I'M THINKING MARITIME MUSEUM YES I AM)

A new plant based Turkish take away opened on the Amsterdamsestraatweg here in Utrecht ! It's called Çigköftem (apparently part of a larger chain of Turkish take aways?) and they do durums, burgers and falafel like balls from a bulgur/tomato puree/spices mixture. Will definitely try this out some time !

You should, it's delicious! Be prepared that the food is cold though, not like falafel at all. Have a look at this thread: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=21722

Oooh, blue cheese! Might be able to hop over there on Tuesday...
I'm up for another meetup too. :-)
I wanted some puff pastry today, and was checking the ingredients on the Koopmans brand packages. The 'origineel' type is made with non-dairy margarine, but it has vitamine D3. I personally don't avoid D3 (yet), but I guess many people do.
As far as I could tell, the non-puff pie pastry (hartige taart deeg) was 100% vegan though. I see some savory pies in my future!

Oh, I can't believe I've never mentioned this before. Do you guys know Professor Grunschnabel's ice cream? It's 100% plant based and they make really really interesting flavor combinations! It's not the cheapest stuff but it's a really great occasional treat. I think my favorites so far have been the Banana Bahiana, and another flavor that's not listed on their site with apple and almonds. Soooooooo yummy!

Ok, that sucks. It looks like there are no places in Groningen selling it yet. I just bought two pints today. I'll do my best to restrain myself so that there's some left when you're here! :D

We ate the herbed variety over a fennel risotto yesterday. So good! I think it is similar to hard goat's cheese. You could definitely serve it to an omni without them noticing it's not dairy.

I am SO cynical about fauxmage in general, but this one was actually pretty decent. :) Nice to know that the Blue Sheeze is out there for when I fancy it. :)

I don't think any shop actually carries them, atleast not that I've seen. So you have to order on ijsboerke.be and pick a (week)day on which they can deliver to your house.

When we lived off the Haarlemmerstraat in Amsterdam, an Asian fast food place called Ralph's used to sell the Grunschnabels but I think that location closed..but maybe there's another location (there were several a few years ago).

The yogurt is good isn't it! I like the plain flavor best. These are accidentally vegan: I normally don't buy candy, but I think I will think of some reason to 'reward' myself :-P
