okay, i liked the first song and i liked the glee cover (i'm in love with darren criss and matt bomer, so it's natural for me to feel prejudiced towards anything they sing) and i quite like eyes wide open, more than the first one even.
I don't get the Peter Gabriel thing at all. Peter Gabriel is a great songwriter with a great voice. Is it because this guy does the same yell/sing thing?

That's it, yes.
I did hear a radio dj call him "Goat-yay", which I liked better because it sounds like some kind of child-like enthusiasm for goats. (And goats are awesome, obviously).

The first time I heard the song I didn't get the hype, but then I listened again and it really grew on me. I can't help but sing along now.

Also, that video made me laugh so hard. I don't hate myself for singing along! It's satisfying. I think those guys would make fun friends.

Pomplamoose have mashed Gotye into Call Me Maybe. I dunno... I kind of like this, in that YouTube-covers-I-can't-stop-playing kind of way. Video is of no real consequence.

Oh, I love this! And I hate "Call Me Maybe" just about as profoundly as I love "Somebody That I Used to Know".

Wow, it sounds like if Glee were produced by people who don't hate the very concept of music.

We already have one Peter Gabriel. Don't need another. I hate the song everyone likes by him.
The first bit sounds exactly like my dad's reaction. Then I was told to watch the longest ever Peter Gabriel Youtube video to prove it. I haven't felt the same about Gotye ever since that happened.

i call this version goatsye (i totally got the goatse connection the first time i read his name. but i never took french, so i never even thought of the other possible pronunciation.)
i also agree with the peter gabriel/sting connection because of the soft fuzzy features of all of their voices. (more PG than sting, but i digress.)
(when i first heard the song, i walked away within the first half minute or so, because it wasn't interesting. i didn't like his whispering. but it makes sense now that i've listened to the whole thing.) i could take it or leave it.

Yep, I'm pretty obsessed with their cover of Single Ladies with its sublime piano part. Over 9 million views for the video — I guess I'm in good company!
