I want to offer a GF option for the crepes Im going to have at my vegan market stall. Any favorite recipes? Needs to be suitable for both sweet and savory fillings. Some of the online recipes called for things i cannot get--like sorghum flour. I did find this one: http://www.yummly.com/recipe/Rice-Flour ... Recipezaar though wonder if i could sub soy for the coconut milk as its way cheaper, or if the coconut makes it better.

any favorite suggestions?

thanks!

Where do you live that you can't get sorghum flour? Not in the US I assume? You could try subbing brown rice flour.

ireland. bleh. we cant get loads of stuff here (wheat gluten being one of them, but the need for that doesnt apply on a GF forum lol) also, even if stuff is available in the UK (still alot of stuff that isnt even available there tho), the shipping costs are atrocious, usually way more than the product itself :(

and yep, thats the one i found in several different places...that had sorghum flour. blah. i wish we could get it here, it seems like a good gf flour sub :(

Sorghum and brown rice flour are a similar weight, can you get superfine brown rice flour? Either way I would try subbing brown rice flour and see how it goes.

Hey Ireland person!! I saw uncle bob's sorghum flour in honeypot in clonmel so it is out there. Try the health shops for a start.

You could also look for sorghum as juwar or jowar flour, that's what I bought it as from the Asian section of my local supermarket.

Our local Crepe food truck uses buckwheat flour in their crepes to make them gluten free. Which, despite it's name, is not related to wheat at all. I've also used chestnut flour to make crepes and they were really good too. Not sure if those are available in Ireland, but I've heard the buckwheat is traditionally used in france to make crepes, at least that's what the lady in the Food Truck tells me, and she sounds like she's from france.
