It is coming to us, but I certainly won't be watching it. I find the whole thing so dull that I wouldn't look out of the window if it was coming down my road, but judging by the reactions of most people I know I'm on my own.

Nope, me too - honestly couldn't care less if I were being paid not to care. But for those who enjoy that sort of thing, don't let that stop you! Torch! Whoo! Running about and that!

No need to apologise, ya wally - no criticism of you or you county, just not my bag. Sure there'll be loads of people who are keen to be part of it.

One of my friends is carrying the torch! Although if it wasn't for that, I wouldn't be too bothered. We're out of the country for the actual games.

I don't know if it comes anywhere near me. Don't really care either, I doubt I'll watch much of the games.

It comes near me. At 6 o'clock in the bloody morning when I'm trying to get to work. They'd better not get in my way or there might be olympic torch all over the front of my car!

Apart from that I'm not really arsed. I like watching the olympics but couldn't give a hoot that its in london.

I saw it down South but it was a lot of excitement for just a flash of a torch. There was a big event with music but you had to get tickets (free) and I wasn't around to get them when they came out.

I know someone who carried one. He was nominated to do so because of his volunteer work!

He let me hold it (I know people who've run up the high street with it just because they can) and it was actually weirdly weighted. Not an easy thing to carry.

It passed within half a mile of our house at a sociable time on a weekend, when the the sun was shining.

I wasn't overly excited by the prospect, but we went anyway as it was a nice day, a once in a lifetime opportunity and involved a walk through the park to get there.

What I didn't fully appreciate and really was quite naive to assume wouldn't be a part of it, was quite how commercial even the torch relay was. I realise it needs an element of security and organiser vehicles, but it was just totally OTT. Before the torch appears itself there were 3-4 large sponsered busses (cocacola, samsung etc) go past very slowly with loud sound systems. It just made the whole thing really tacky.

Given that the Olympics cost the taxpayer £9.3B it's sad how much control the advertisers get - in a funny sort of way I'd rather the Olympics cost us slightly more and advertising was banned.
