I saw this was available now on Amazon.. i'm trying to be a little frugal with my cookbook purchases, but I love sandwiches so I may end up getting this anyway.
Has anyone tested recipes from here or purchased the cookbook yet?

It can be preordered at Powell's now. http://www.powells.com/biblio/62-9781592335251-0I am a sucker for a good sandwich and Tami and Celine are both delightful people so I hope to purchase if from my local store when available. The photos I have seen them post look great.

The recipe titles in the Powell's description sound amazing. Portobello Po' Boys and Mediterranean Tempeh Sandwiches? Yes please.
I don't think I'll be holding out long on this purchase.

Right? I don't think my PB sammich is going to cut it after seeing Mihl's handiwork! Did you use a bread machine? I've never made bread, and it intimidates me.

No. The recipes don't call for a bread machine. But you don't have to be intimidated. I think there were testers with not much experience in bread baking, too. The instructions kick asparagus, so there's not much room for forking up.
Plus, many recipes call for store-bought bread, too.

I pre-ordered after I saw a flickr photo pool of stuff people had tested, it all looked so good. I momentarily go tmy hopes up when I saw this thread because I thought maybe it'd been released early. Sadly not. :(

I tested for this. And I don't make bread, ever. One of the best parts about the book is that lots of the sandwiches don't use traditional breads. There are tortillas, pastries, rice paper, rolls, brioches, waffles, roti, fried breads and all sorts of other delights, as long as they contain fillings or toppings. And there's great flexibility because there are recipes for breads, lunch meats, bacons, seitans, cottage cheese (!) etc, but you can swap elements with store bought if you want or need to.
There's also a great mix of vegetable/pulse/salad type sandwiches that you can eat mid week for a healthy fix, and indulgent sloppy weekend ones too.
