Oh, whoops! Well Sunday is better for me but it doesn't really matter that much. So I'm fine with whatever. The Ike's at stanford would work for anyone who doesn't have a car, since there's a caltrain station nearby. I'm not sure how easy it is to get to the Cupertino location by public transit.

I don't have a car so would have to do the Stanford location. Let's do Sunday the 10th is that still works for people.
I had the Chelsea Clinton yesterday. Wowza. They make seriously amazing sandwiches. Excited to meet you guys!

I don't have a car either and I'm coming from SJ. Does the Marguerite shuttle run on Sundays?
I'm a maybe at this point.

Hey guys,
There is a strong possibility I might be moving back to Canada soon. It's not 100% yet...but when I hear if it's certain it's going to happen quickly. I can fill you in on Sunday!
Anyhoo, there are a few things in my pantry that I'm never going to use up and they certainly aren't worth hauling out of the country. A few of the items are things I bought to make things out of Viva Vegan and Papa Loves Tofu/Ethiopian, and I thought I'd see if anyone here was interested and I could bring whatever you want with me to Ike's on Sunday.
-Large bag of dried red chiles. I'm not sure what kind, the package doesn't say. -Bag of wrappers for tamales, unopened -Bag of piloncillo/jaggery, unopened (I think there is a drink recipe in Viva Vegan that calls for this, I also have a few Indian recipes that use it too) -Unopened package of agar agar, but it's not the powder kind, it's these large rectangle type thingies -Opened 5lb bag of masa flour (there's about half the bag left) -1.5 packages of kampyo (one package is unopened, other is half full) -unopened bag of wakame -Package of konbu - opened, about 75% of package left -half bottle of light corn syrup -urad dal (used for injera fakeouts from papa tofu) - I bought in bulk and kept in a glass jar, I'll be bringing it to you in a plastic bag -about 1 cup teff flour (for injera fakeouts) - once again, bought in bulk and kept in glass, I'll give to you in plastic bag
If anything interests you feel free to let me know! Anything left over will be going to Freecycle.

Oh wow, that's exciting! Sadly I have most of those things also collecting dust in my own pantry. I'll take the corn syrup off your hands though.
See you all Sunday - did we pick a time? Noon?

Cool - corn syrup is yours!
Also I forgot to add that I have an unopened bag of Bob's Red Mill soy flour to give away as well, and half a box of Ener-G. Why the heck do I have all of this??
And I'm flexible on what time we meet.

Oh wait, I lied, would 12:30ish or 1ish work for others? Earlier might be difficult to swing. Sorry to be difficult.

Yup, 12:30's fine for me too.
Lobsteriffic, great news for you on the job front but super sad you'll be leaving our little group!
I can take whatever you're giving away if no one else wants it. Except maybe the masa flour....I already have 2 bags of my own!

Ahhhh! I wasn't sure which group you guys were, I was there early at 12:15 but then all of a sudden lots of people were there and I was too shy to figure out who was who. I sat at the long table up front, I might be too awkward for Internet meet-ups.
Hope you guys had a good time and enjoyed the sandwiches!

Sorry we missed you Alin!
Super awesome sandwich that I talked about for the rest of the day! I'm glad I got to see ya'll before I leave and I'll miss our vegan group outings! But like I said, if any of you ever find yourselves near TO, drop me a line! Likewise, I'm sure I'll be back to visit the Bay in the not too distant future. :)

I was thinking maybe something up on Skyline/Hwy 35? There are lots of open space preserves up there with great hikes. It's also a little cooler because of the elevation/coastal fog!

OK, looks like we might be the only hikers this time! I will keep an eye on this thread to see if anyone else is interested; if not, we can discuss where to go via email or something!

Right, sounds good! I've been super busy the last two weeks and a hike will be a great break.
