I had to stop eating toast because I'm only one person in my flat, and I can't get through a loaf of bread before I eat it all. So I started on granola with soy milk, and now the soy milk goes thick/rank before I finish it? Does anybody have any tips/brands to make soy milk last longer?!

Freeze your bread and drink your soy milk faster. When I buy bread, I keep out about 1/3 loaf and freeze the rest. When I need more, I let it defrost in the fridge. Since you are toasting it anyway, it shouldn't be a noticeable difference, especially if you are using a heartier wheat loaf.
Soy milk is only going to last about a week once opened--it's highly perishable! I've never noticed any differences among brands or types of non-dairy milk. If it isn't lasting 5 or do days, try turning up the temp in your fridge.

I buy a bulk box of the small boxes of Kara (my preferred non dairy milk). It starts off more expensive but ends up cheaper because I throw less away.
And yes, some breads freeze better than others but for toast it should be OK. Or freeze crumpets or muffins, they freeze very well.

I usually eat rice cakes with nut butter for breakfast. No chance of anything spoiling before I get around to using it up and no dishes to wash afterwards. I store my homemade bread rolls in the freezer and whack them in the microwave on defrost for a minute because they're better than vaguely stale that way. Soymilk is usually ok in the fridge for about a week. If yours is going off in less than five days, yep, check your fridge is cold enough! Or buy soy yogurt to eat with your granola (get the smaller plain Sojade tubs maybe).

I would check the setting on your fridge. It is more than likely not cool enough. I get a good few days out of soya milk. I have often had soya milk open in the fridge at work for over a week because I only use it for tea there.

I agree with checking your fridge. My soy milk usually lasts at least 2 weeks, and on the cartons I get it says it should last 10 days.

I've been using Alpro Soya Light, and it never seems to go off!

Welp, I'm definitely going to turn up my fridge! And yeah, I had alpro soya light this week and it didn't go weird. However I don't have a freezer so I still can't freeze bread things!
