Sephora had mini bottles of UD foundation - none left in my color...However I got a sample. The chick at the counter who just went vegan (I went to two Sephora locations & the other counter helper is trying to go vegan) gave me a bunch of Fresh soy facial cleanser - trying to see if it is vegan.

I heard back the fresh cleanser is vegan & gluten free! :)

Soy Face Cleanser contains no animal by-products whatsoever! Safe to use if you're a vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, etc :) The main ingredients are rose flower water and soy protein

I tested out a sample of Paula's Choice Best Face Forward foundation today, and over primer it held up well and didn't sink into my pores or rub off on my cell phone. It's not heavy coverage, but it's decent, and the price is great. I ordered a full sized bottle.

I don't think you saw it but I posted on G+ that one of Paula's mascaras is vegan.

Quote:
Thank you for contacting us with your questions regarding the ingredients used in our formulations. The majority of Paula's Choice makeup products contain no animal ingredients; however, some do contain beeswax derived from beehives and glyceryl stearate from animal fat.

Our Illicit Lash Maximum Impact Mascara which you are inquiring about, contains no animal ingredients. However, if you are curious the Great Big Lashes Mascara contains glyceryl stearate which is derived from animal fat.

I hope the information provided proves helpful. If you have any questions or need further assistance please feel free to contact us any time.

Oh! I'm going to have to order that at some point, the reviews on the PC site aren't amazing, but it's not very expensive, and I love trying new vegan mascaras. Thank you!

So I need a new perfume. I love Pacifica but the scents are not lasting long on me and I need to change 'em up due to needing something new. I would love to walk into Sephora and try perfume on...I want to contact some companies but I am having a hard time figuring out who makes particular scents!

So far net research shows PureDKNY is vegan!

Thierry Mugler Alien is my favorite perfume ever. I know it's CF, but I haven't checked to see if it's vegan. If it is, which I'm about to email t o find out, you should try it, every single time I wear it someone asks me what it is, and that it smells amazing. The only perfumes that smell better to me are Bond No 9, and those are vegan and CF, but ridiculously expensive. Like make me cry expensive.

I have Stella - but I prefer more fruity or clean scents...I liked one really yummy Lavanille scent - it was like baked goods and incense....After that the smells just did not do it for me. I thought the blackberry smelled like cheap wine...Good if you want to attract hobos - not so good if you want to smell pretty.

Oh hey. I'll look to see what I have. Last time I was at Saks, the Chanel SA gave me a bagfull of Bond samples. They look like decent size sample tubes.

i had never heard of these, so i looked them up, became very excited because i love anything and everything that references nyc, started swooning over the scent descriptions, and, yes, began to cry about the prices. i guess for now i'll have to stick to smelling like soap or deodorant or nothing, but when i win the lottery i'll buy these for all of us.

I heard back from Thierry Mugler
Quote:
Dear Jessica,

thank you for your interest in Thierry Mugler and your kind words! We really appreciate it and hope that Alien will continue to fulfill your dreams...

Alien Eau de Parfum does not contain any animal, insect, fish or shellfish derived ingredients, and none of our products are tested on animals, rest assured!

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

So until acr wins the lottery, I can keep happily wearing Alien.

I might ask for a Bond No 9 scent for Christmas from my parents, and just have that be my only gift. I also think I'm going to order samples from them, so I can wear some of their scents sparingly for now, you can get 6 samples for $15, it doesn't seem like you can order more or less though. I'm going to get I <3 New York for All, and Central Park West for sure, because I smelled both in two different issues of Vogue and they started my obsession, and then I think probably Brooklyn, Bleeker Street, Broadway Nite, and Nuits de Noho.

Someone needs to do a 'things that smell like non-vegan things' post so I can figure out which perfume to get. I used to wear Flowerbomb and I still have some left that I wear on occasion because I'm not throwing it out, but I need something new. I suck at perfume and have no idea where to start looking!

They got back to me super fast, like within hours, you should email! I like Angel, but I think my old therapist wore it, because it smells just like her, so I can't wear it because it makes me feel like I'm in a therapy session all the time.

I emailed Dr. J SkinClinic/Dr. J Organics:

"Thank you for your inquiry. DRJ OrganiCare manufactures USDA- certified organic personal care products for face and body. DRJ OrganiCare (DRJ Organics and Dr. J SkinClinic) doesn't test any of our products on animals. We also do not use any animal-derived ingredients. Our ingredients are all plant-derived. I hope that answers your questions. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions or concerns."

It looks like they use cholesterol in one product, I noticed this after I emailed so I'm not sure if it's synthetic or not:/ But Cover FX uses synthetic cholesterol(C 10-30 Cholesterol/Lanosterol Esters), so maybe it is ok. I emailed Avene last year, and they responded that they do not do any animal testing and the products were suitable for vegans...but some contain lanolin.

Angel is one of my favourite ever perfumes and I still have pretty much a full bottle of it from before I was vegan, so this is good news! YAY.
