I figure one of you may know this. Is there a vegan safe brand of pastel chalk out there I can buy at a craft store? I want it for my hair - I know not art related but I figure asking people who buy chalks would know. I searched on google with no luck. Thank you!

I'm tempted to put pastel chalk in my hair, but I'm concerned it will stain (I'm blonde). Not that I care... I miss having colorful hair. But my job might care.

To clarify, soft pastels are usually vegan and oil pastels often have animal fats in them. I know you originally asked about chalk pastel, but I didn't want anyone to be confused by the PETA list.

I picked my chalk up from Blicks. They have Blick packs for super cheap that come in a wide array of colors, are vegan and they work in hair (that was specifically what I bought them for).

I see a lunctime walk to the art store in my near future!

Btw, I've pastel-chalked my hair a bunch of times before-just a few tips.
Don't wet the chalk or your hair if you're blonde, it'll stain. Otherwise, wet one or the other.
It REALLY dries out your hair, so don't do it too often
Let it dry before you go out; I walked out right after doing it once, and my neck, arms, and shoulders and shirt were COVERED in pink :'D

I still have not done this...I have roots right now - I feel edgy enough! :P
