Just heard this on the news. Quote: Two people were killed and nine injured in a shooting incident Friday morning outside the Empire State Building by a disgruntled ex-employee of a nearby business, officials said. http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/08 ... lding?liteHope everyone in NYC is ok!

You know, if those tourists were carrying assault rifles instead of cameras this *never* would have happened. We should probably just start handing guns to people when they get off the plane.

Really the problem is that stop and frisk is only used in neighborhoods where poor people of color live. If they just stopped and frisked middle aged white guys, they would have found that gun earlier.

So the news now is that all the people killed on the street were shot by police fire, and not the gunman.

Only two people were killed--1 was killed by the gunman and the other was the gunman who was killed by police. Three bystanders were hit with bullets shot by police; two in the leg and one in the butt. The other people were grazed or hit by bullet fragments. All of the bystanders are fine.

I used to work a few blocks away and went to lunch right there at the Empire State Chipotle just a few months ago!
Thank goodness the NYC police didn't seriously hurt anyone. Terrible about the two killed though.
