Dresses are too short! At least for my work they are, where I'm bending over constantly and am not the most graceful most of the time. I'm (only) 5'8" and all of the dresses I've ordered online are pretty short, and it's too hot to wear tights or leggings.

My legs are pretty scrawny so I'm hoping showing leg doesn't really matter (and no one has said anything), but damn. Why is everything cute so short?

Ugh, yes. I have a bunch of dresses I can't wear for work because when I sit down at my desk (which I am doing 90% of the time), everyone can see my crotch.

me too! stupid body, being all tall. i have to order stuff marketed as mid-calf if i want it to graze my knees.

I'm not tall--5'4ish--and dresses are often too short for me. I don't know if designers are making clothes for twelve year-olds or if they're part of a crotch-liberation movement, but I can't buy dresses from places likes modcloth.

I dunno! It's weird. I am obsessed with Ruche and everything is borderline too short, but I figure since my legs aren't much to look at, who cares? I do a bending down test every morning to know what I have to work with. I'm probably just being paranoid because my dresses are nowhere near as short as I see some women wear, but I am not really a person who likes to wear revealing clothing.

I don't even really look at modcloth anymore cause everything is too short. The only people cutting stuff to a reasonable length seems to be work wear stores like Ann Taylor and Talbots. Maybe that's what I'm supposed to be wearing at 28 anyway, but where are the clothes for hip young ladies who don't want to show everyone their asparagus at work.

I'm 5'3" & I have a mod cloth dress that's SO short that I'll only wear it at the beach. I love super short skirts / dresses but even I don't want to actually have my asparagus out!

Yeah, Modcloth stuff is really short too (and they have an AWFUL return policy for people outside the US). I find I have to order a size higher just to get the extra length, but then it doesn't really fit my frame properly.

I should really learn to sew. Ever since I turned 30 I've taken a greater interest in cute dresses.

ModCloth stuff is always super short. I love it, but I can't really justify spending the money on things that I'll only wear on dates to nice places. I need to be able to wear stuff to work! And as a high school teacher, even more than just slightly above the knee is too short, so basically anything ModCloth is right out. It's a bummer.

It could definitely be work-appropriate on me and it's *very* comfortable. I don't usually spend this much on dresses, but I'm pleased and I think I'll get plenty of wear out of it.

I bought a dress from Modcloth for work that I also can't sit down in. I'm five foot NOTHING. I have no idea who could possibly wear that dress. I wasn't able to return it in time so it still sits in my wardrobe, where I occasionally frown at it accusingly. I would donate it, but it's so unwearable that I would just feel mean trying to hand it over to someone else.

What style is it? Can you get it altered somehow?

If I'm worried about bending over I wear this seamless short thingie over my underpants. It's like a hipster undie with more fabric (covers the cheeks ;)).

I loved that dress on her, too, but I didn't even bother figuring out what it was.

Leggings? Or is that too casual for your workplace? I am not a fan of leggings as pants but as long as the dress covers my butt I feel like that's okay.

Oh god, yes. Need. The other dresses with waists that look normal on people with small boobs? Empire waist on me. Nnnnnnope.

Modcloth is usually just above the knee for me. Yay for being 5'3 and having the shortest legs ever. Suckers.

Sometime this winter I'm gonna bite the bullet and finally get a dear creatures dress. Love all of those, bathsheba, especially the second one!

I always tell myself that I can't wait to become a fancy grown up where hopefully I will be able to afford to have a couple of their dresses. All of them are gorgeous. Shapes and colors. Why don't other places make dresses like this!

I'm picky about colors/prints. I usually just go with black or earthy colors, but I'm really feeling this one.
