What is your pet going to be this year? What was s/he in previous years?

I'm still trying to decide on Sable's costume for this year. Here are some things she was in previous years:

Witch:

I think this was the first Halloween costume she wore. Someone donated it to the shelter (in case the dogs wanted to dress up I guess?) and I borrowed it for Halloween.

Peapod:


We entered this one in a costume contest, but we didn't win.

Hippie Bus:

My mom bought this one for Sable. We were also in the costume contest this year. I decided to dress up as a hippie to go along with Sable's costume. I was the only human in costume, and the rest of the people there kept looking at me like I was a total weirdo. We didn't win, again.

The Eleventh Doctor:


I just really wanted to see my dog in a fez. I almost put her in the costume contest again, but decided that I didn't want to spend the entire parade explaining what Doctor Who was to every person there. So after all the work I went through finding the parts for the costume, she only wore it for the 5 minutes it took to take these pictures.

Holy shiitake, these are awesome! My dogs have yet to be anything but I think I'm going to dress my toy poodle up as something. They usually have dog costumes at the store, I'm going to check out what they have this year.

Both of my kids are freaking out and trying to dress up Three Three now (our sheltie).

Sable is the best! That peapod!!!

She was NOT happy about being a peapod because people kept taking her picture, and (as you can see from her expression in most of these photos,) she does not enjoy having her picture taken! It was such an adorable costume though.

Too damn cute! I think I like the bumblebee idea for this year!

The peapod is amazing. I'm pretty sure my cats would murder me in my sleep if I dressed them up, so they'll just be Best Kitties Ever for halloween.

Our Newfoundland we had when I was growing up was a witch every Halloween in a modified children's costume of my sister's. She loved it and would frequently lay down and refuse to let us take it off. She loved wearing all kinds of clothes and being adored in her beautiful gown:

Last year I dressed Penny as a witch and I was a cat, not very creative but it was fun. If I can get into the dress again, I'd like to go as Annie and have the dog be "Sandy", but I might need to start thinking of a back up plan. I am surprised at how tolerant she is of me putting outfits on her, as long as there is nothing on her head she's okay with it.

Brieble was a hot dog last year. However, everyone pretended to eat her. Hopefully that won''t be the case this year.

I tried to dress my bunnies up for Halloween once, but they just ate the costumes. I can't remember what the outfit was, something green though.

I think I've posted this picture before, but last year Arlo was a bee and I was a ladybug. He really hated wearing the antennae so I took them off after the picture, but he happily chilled in the rest of the costume for most of the weekend.

These are my two favorites from the past several years:

Norton, the bummed-out shark (he hates wearing anything on his head).



Bonneville was a perfect hula dancer because the entire back half of her body wiggles when she's happy. She actually looked like she was dancing.

i want to steal your dogs, lacy. if i lived even a little bit closer, they'd be in very real danger.

I love the hula idea! My dog Scout's posterior wiggles and dances like crazy. I must get her a hula skirt sometime.

I have not dressed my cat up (if she weren't suffering with a UTI, she'd be in costume this year, but I feel bad enough for her already) but ERMAHGERD THIS THREAD

EEEE HEEE HEEE HEEE <---that is all I am saying, over and over, while tickling my cat's tummy and gushing about pets in costume to her. She is unimpressed.

I decided it would be cute if we dressed up the shelter dogs this year!

Cute! I wish I could take the last doggie so bad.
