I think they are Gothic in the listening-to-Bauhaus-while-writing-bad-poetry-about-pain sense.

Does anyone know if the Orly Slip It Off Extra Strength remover is vegan? I'm 99% sure it looks vegan but I can't find any info on their site.

Last week I did a fast mani using SC's "I Love You" a glittery purple. I just did polkadots with an accent nail painted solid. It was kinda crepe but fun. The manager at the gym last night asked if I use sharpies on my nails? Huh? I was a bit taken aback...I am not in junior high anymore.

I think it was hella tacky that OPI sent out a press release suggesting it was their product when they didn't know for sure. I get that that's how advertising works, but I still think it was gross.

And I second the request for Fishwife swatches if anybody spots them. The bottle shot looks right up my alley.

It's phrased to be deliberately misleading.

How hard would it be to say something like "If you liked MIchelle Obama's manicure from last night, we have X,Y, and Z polishes in similar colors and finishes that you will love."

I have no idea why this is making me so angry, only that it is. Mayhaps it's that I'm PMDD like mad right now and quit smoking recently enough that I may still be going through nicotine withdrawal, but whatever it is I'm just miffed. You should probably just ignore me while I seethe in the corner.

That doesn't seem right, jessilikewhoa, but I don't blame anyone from trying to capitalize on it. The site the blog linked to led me to see the Fall 2012 shellac colors, and they are pretty gorgeous. I wonder if that salon I go to wil get them. I think they're only for pre-order currently. Most of her clothes are actually super expensive. She wears tons of Jason Wu, among others. She wears stuff like J Crew every once in a while so nobody really notices her $5000 jackets (she wore that to an Olympics event) and $1000 sweaters. In fact, she and Ann Romney share a few of the same favorite designers.

I think it's great that she promotes the up and coming American designers. I do wish she would help a bit more overtly with supporting the garment district though.

I haven't seen yet who designed the dress she wore last night; that was gorgeous. She looked amazing.

Aha. She was wearing Tracy Reese, so the dress was around $488. That was an amazing dress for under $500; it looked couture. Nice job FLOTUS.

(if you wear a weird size, you can often find Tracy Reese dresses for under $200 at Saks end of season sales)
