Leanne has unveiled the 2012 line of Vaute Couture coats, and the preorder is on!

http://www.vautecouture.com/c-2-coats.aspx

Which one is your favorite? I like The Book. There are a lot more dude coats this year too and they are really nice.

Yay - the 2012 Vaute Couture coats are open for pre-ordering - 50% off for the first 24 hours then it goes to 45% off until September 13th.

I just ordered the Belden in the eggplant luxe. I wasn't living in a particularly cold climate last winter, but now I'm back in Canada and need a pretty coat to ease the pain of winter.

I was just looking at this- but it's hard to see what a lot of the coats look like because they're photographed in black only.

The Lori is my style of coat. Awesome. Even at half price I will never own one. Not for many years. Gorgeous though.

Oh man, I could so see myself rocking the Lori, the Emily, or the waxed Belden, but yeah like Sisterlegume I'm not even going to pretend I could afford any of those.

Oh, they brought the audrey back with buttons this year! I really wanted the audrey last year but it had the zipper so I went with belden. I love my coat but has anyone else had issues with their neck getting cold or is it just me...

I just ordered a Belden in black! SO EXCITED. I've wanted a Vaute coat for years but haven't been able to justify the expense. My current cold weather coat is in tatters (and was pregan so it is decidedly not vegan), and even though it doesn't get THAT cold in San Francisco, I feel okay about buying one at 20% off. I do go back to Boston to visit family, and whatever, it's time for me to have a nice, grown up coat. A beautiful coat. A coat I can get excited about.

The bummer is that it will be a long time before it gets here. SADDEST FACE.

I really want to buy a Belden, but there is nothing wrong with the El I got three years ago (although I think they have improved the sizing a bit since then...but I sewed in a snap on the El to make it fit up top better).

I was thinking of getting one for my boyfriend, as he doesn't own a dressy coat, but none of them are really his style.

This season's coats are more my style than they have been in past years. I'm kind of tempted by the James or maybe the Wings, but it seems like the prices have gone up in recent years, too (although I understand that demand has also increased).

Ohhhh, I want the Belden so much! And I don't have a jacket yet after my last one kind of died. I will have to see if I can squeeze it into my budget!

This year I treated myself to the Audrey in black. I love these coats...so soft and touchable!

I think I'm going to splurge on James, but waxed canvas or dove grey? (also, I'm borderline between XS and S. Anyone with experience in men's sizing know which I should get?)

Waxed canvas. They are so unique, I think. If you have ANY size questions, email Leanne. She has also said on FB that if you email her with questions about a specific coat/size/etc. she will make sure you still get the discount if your email is inside the 24 hour period. She is super accessible. Also, suspecting pretty cute: I think her boyfriend is named James.

Also I just bought a waxed canvas Belden that won't fit me yet, but will I hope in the spring.

Do these coats really run true to size? I want to get a Belden but am worried that the sleeves will come up a bit short. I am a tall lady (about 5 10") and normally wear a size medium. I am worried about the sleeves and the waist coming up short. If I am spending that much I want it to fit right and not awkward in any way. Thanks for any input. I emailed Leanne too btw.

I bought my boyfriend a Vaute Couture coat a couple of years ago and he needed an XL. He is super tall (6'4"), but also really quite thin. We were shocked that the large was too small for him. So err on the side of larger.

I really want an Emily coat.

I really love the Book <3. But it's probably too warm to wear it indoors the way I'd like to, you know blazer style, as a replacement for light wool jacket or a sweater. And it's a bit too short for an outdoors coat to my taste.

I'm 5'8'' and I got the Belden in large as I'm at the upper end in medium. It is close-fitting and I think the sleeves could probably be just a bit longer.

I sadly only need one winter coat this year, and I still really love my black Airs. If it was falling apart, though, I'd take advantage of this (actually if it was falling apart, I wouldn't buy another one because I've only had it for a year!). I'd love the Lori if I didn't feel like it would make me look like I'm with child.

I think VC are pretty jackets to look at but for me not really practical...I wish I was fancy but untill VC starts making hoodies I will see if the boyfriend wants a new jacket! When they do the tour I want to try to go to SF to try on coats with my boyfriend to see how they properly fit. I have a problem with arm length and he has a problem with brand sizing, most times it is a L and sometimes it is a XL to to arm/bicep issues and the chest area....

I think I will wait and go try some on when she comes to Portland for next year. If I am spending that much I want it to be right and not end up with a coat that looks like 3 quarter sleeves on me, like I said earlier. Too bad that for that price she doesn't take custom measurements.
