eeeh, it really doesn't look so good. I liked it on the model though! I feel his original had more of a soft pink rather a salmon color on top.

Agreed! Lots of drama in the middle but I am happy with the final decisions! I felt really embarrassed that that the one team was behaving so badly in front of Anna Sui though!

I am done with any rooting for Sonjia after that crack about one team's t-shirts being the most homeless looking t-shirts she's ever seen. Who says that?

I was not surprised to see Alicia go - no pov to her looks and it was always boring.

most of the episode was boring as hell.

i laughed so hard watching melissa's facial reactions when her team was being critiqued.
you could tell she was dying inside.

elana elana elana elana.
i would take alicia over elana any day. i'm sick of her.

boo to the judges for thinking gunnar's dresses were sympathy pieces. he made 2 decent dresses but they kept raving about coats. seriously, was chris' coat really that great?
someone described it as a bathrobe and that description pretty much nailed it.

My gf and I caught up on this season yesterday in a hotel (cable! marathon!) and this group is so shady/jerky. With a couple people opting to leave, Ven's fat phobia, and Dmitry's white knee socks! This season is a hot mess. Confession: sometimes I like Elena because she's intensely opinionated.

Not into Gunnar, but I think he finally pulled his shiitake together a bit. I really can't say I'm rooting for anyone this season. Christopher was okay at first, but he's all mega wahmbulance now. Ven is a one trick dick.

I think she can probably put out some decent casual sportswear, but she isn't ever going to be at her best in a fashion/runway situation.

My mom said that there was a pop up of PR on AOL on Friday at Fashion week and they announced 3 of this seasons designers they were wearing. My mom thinks it gave away the winners...

Probably not--everybody up through last week presented a collection.

My dad picked up Tim Gunns book from the bargain bin, read a few paragraphs, got sucked in, and now is enjoying it so much that he is practically reading it to us.

Didn't like Chris' coat. Loved Gunnar's dresses and thought they were versatile and wearable-- loved Sonjie's jacket but felt like it was a lot more limited in where it'd work/who it'd work on. I'm glad they won though, the other two teams were boring and bad.

I am tired of Elena. She is not doing a good job of showing off her skills (and I do think for her it's really partially time related, some of her portfolio stuff is just fantastic... But the deadlines are a key part of the competition, you know about them going into it! And her bad attitude is not helping her be a good designer) and personality wise, she comes across as intolerable.

Sonjie's "homeless" comment was awful but I think she's still probably the competitor whose designs I like most.

I think Elena is going to the finals. Her fashion week collection is stunning, other than the horrific lipstick choices. I would love to wear a few of those pieces, especially the dresses. I don't like her either, but if she just shuts up and makes clothes like that...

Christopher's collection looks a mess and not at all cohesive. I'd call it a decoy.

Ven is lots of overly shiny satin roses with bad Veronica Lake styling. Blech.

Sorry. They are all out there for public consumption now though. Anything inferred from them is just speculation.

Any chance we could get fashion week comments in spoiler tags?

Can't believe I was rooting for Gunnar to win! I'm sorry, but the Dmitry and Elena bickering makes me laugh.

Spoiler: show
I LOVE Elena's fashion week collection. It's the best one imho. I can't really tell about the rest. So boring. Especially Fabio's! Melissa's en Sonjia's are the better ones. Gunnar's is weird.

I love Christopher's analogies, even if they are scripted. Elena is a crazed animal escaped from the woods? Boris and Natasha? Hilarious.

They need to do a weird challenge, I like those so much better. I liked Gunnar's dresses but mostly I don't know shiitake about clothes so practical challenges do nothing for me. But last week I was like, "Ooooo, I can tell Dmitry's dress is going to be in the top three!" And then it wasn't. I think Nina, Michael and Heidi are huffing glue while waiting for the runway to be set up.

I also like the Gunnar and Christopher worked well together and didn't metaphorically pee on each other's dresses the whole time. Drama is fun but sometimes I want to be like, "GOD, YOU'RE BOTH A LITTLE ANNOYING SO JUST GET OVER THE FACT THAT YOU'RE VERY SIMILAR AND MAKE THE DAMN CLOTHES."

Also Elena and Dmitry need to have the next road trip spin-off.

ven's PINK hibiscus flower and tim's 'homage to the menstrual cycle' comment.
i wanted to laugh but i just wasn't seeing it.
ven's print was a cop out but tim's comment was off the mark.
i think melissa and chris's fabric veered more into menstrual land then ven's. (ugh! i'm defending ven)

another cop out?
sonje's explanation!
"i'm from the US so i used red, white and blue and black because i'm black."
really?
this was contrived but she made a great pair of pants that i would never wear.

yay dimitry!! i don't care for the jacket but glad he won a challenge.

aw gunnar. it was his time to go but so glad he dropped the overly sassy/crappy attitude.

not including fashion week, i bet ven turns out another flower (fanning technique) before the end of the season. he just can't help himself.

I agree. What was up with that? Menstrual blood isn't fuschia, Tim! Maybe he was thinking about some packaging for a certain brand of pads? Some of them have flowers on them, and might be that color. Ven's initial look was not good, but not for that reason. I was just a plain white dress with a ruffle tacked on.

Also, I can't believe he churned out another "folded flower" skirt so quickly. I have increasing suspicions that he is not really human, as suggested in the AV club review: http://www.avclub.com/articles/women-on-the-go,83307/ (have you guys been reading those? They are awesome.)

I liked how you could see Sonje's model kind of rolling her eyes at the explanation of the color choice.

And yeah, I didn't see the maxi pad comparison either. And while still not that great, the first dress would have been better than the second one he made. His fabric flowers creep me out for some reason. They look too much like an orifice.
