PPK September Meetup

Where: ??
Why: Well....why not?

Weekends vs weekdays?
Brunch, lunch, dinner or drinks?
Queens, Manhattan or Brooklyn?

Not to hijack this thread, because unfortunately I can't come Labor Day weekend but if we can rally together enough people, a friend and I are trying to go up to Farm Sanctuary. Car rentals are expensive but the more people we can fit, the cheaper the cost is for everyone and the more the merrier! If you're interested, we're going Saturday, Sept 1st.

I'm down with pretty much anything on the weekends in September. Mid-Sept weekend prob would be best since school is back in effect but not too crushing yet.

I’d be available over the weekend. (I don’t have off on Labor Day, though. ☹)

What would work best with me is a late brunch or lunch on Saturday or Sunday, or an early dinner on Saturday. Any borough would be fine, with enough time to travel from Manhattan.

This weekend is busy for me but I really hope we can find another time to do this!! I really would love to join. Perhaps closer to the end of the month?

Any of those sound good to me.

Or if we want to meet in Manhattan, there are tons of other options. Jivamukti Cafe in the Jivamukti Yoga Center is one possibility. (That would be good for lunch, since they're not open for dinner). Or if people don't mind places that aren't completely vegetarian, we could go to Pala Pizza and split a few pies with Daiya cheese.

i just moved to the city and unfamiliar with restaurants and will probably select something random so make a suggestion if you're looking for gluten-free options!

The SuperVegan site lists a whole bunch of places that have gluten-free options. If you go to http://www.supervegan.com, you can find a listing by clicking on "NYC Metro Area Vegan Restaurants," then scroll down and click on "Restaurants by cuisine," and then click on "Gluten-free." (I tried to get a direct link to the page, but it wouldn't work.)

I also have a friend who would like to come. She has very particular tastes, though. Of the places with gluten-free options listed on the site, I think the ones that would appeal most to her would be the V-Spot or Dao Palate (I think they could accommodate a meetup) in Brooklyn, or Pala Pizza (it says they have gluten-free crust and pasta options) in Manhattan.

So I hope the above is helpful in narrowing down our options (you may still want to call and double-check to make sure they're safe). Kindly continue to keep us posted on the details.
