I ran yesterday! I have never run except when forced in high school. There is an awesome grass track across the street from me and it was so nice out. My boyfriend started running in spring and really enjoys it and I would love to go with him sometime. According to him I did a mile (running maybe 60-70% of the time). I'm pretty excited and hopefully I will keep going through fall.

Go Catalina!
I did an hour of Zumba. I was going to stay and do some strength stuff but I was low energy and hungry so I'll do something else tonight.

An hour "Total Cycle" class at my new gym. It's a spinning/indoor cycling class where we lift weights part of the time on the bikes. That three pound weight kicked my asparagus but I went like 22 miles.

I'm off to the gym for an upper body session. I filmed my squats on sunday, so I'll see if I can put it up here later.

40 minute run, 15 minutes aerobics & a body combat class. Haven't done body combat for quite a few months as I was taking advantage of running outside in the good weather. It was good to get back to it. Hope I don't hurt too much in the morning.

Glute bridges then a warm up of Turkish get ups with a 12kg kettlebell. Followed up by 5 sets of 24kg kettlebell swings, five sets of 8kg clean and press and 5 sets of 8kg snatches. Then a circuit (repeated four times) of jabs and crosses on a punchbag, mountain climbers, jumping side-to-side over a small frame, bent over rows, burpees and shuttle runs.

40 minute trainer ride last night, today is my day off, tomorrow is a 15 minute ride just to run through the gears and a 15 minute run with a couple of 1 minute pickups just to get the fast twitch fibers activated. And then training is done and Saturday is the moment of truth (or the 7-8 hours of truth, as the case may be.)

Hope it goes/went well today, monkeytoes!
I took a short premiere ride on my new bike this morning (I love it so much!), and I just finished a 40 minute run, followed by stretching. I also worked a bit on my L-sit. Almost there...

Decided to start gradually increasing the distance of my short runs. 6km yesterday. A bunch of assisted pull-ups. Three sets of 8 with 125 lb assistance, so time to take some weight off and continue on the road to pull-up towne.

1.2 mile swim, ~16-17 mile ride*, 13.1 mile run
*Yeah, this was supposed to be 56 miles but I blew a tire. So sad.

MT, I saw your post in the "worst thing" thread in the Foyer. I'm so so sorry your day didn't go the way you'd planned. I'm not going to tell you not to be disappointed, because Lard knows, I've been there.
BUT, you have LOTS to be proud of. You did all the training, had a race plan and did everything right. Equipment fails sometimes and that's what happened to you. You swam, you rode and you ran! You deserve to feel good about your effort.
Take the time you need to feel a little blue, but I know you can rise above this setback. Onward, ppk buddy. (hugs)

Thanks, studio. I got a little teary about it this morning, mostly because going in everyone kept asking me, "Are you ready?" and I sort of didn't really know. Now I know I was ready. But onward, indeed. I won't have much time to dwell on it once I jump into marathon training.

I did a 30 mile ride today. The summer was so brutal I haven't been on a ride longer than ten miles since June. Commuting to work is fine, but I didn't realize how much I missed being out in the country on my bike. Tomorrow I think I'm going to buy some running shoes, my theory being if I spend the money on nice shoes I will be motivated to keep running.
