I like this. Also, I just now sat down to read this thread and find out what MoFo even IS, and now I want to do it. I was going to do the cookbook challenge but I think it's not going to actually work for me to do that, so MoFo might be a bit more doable. I was thinking I could either pick a cookbook and do a new recipe every day, but we also have a LOT of stored food, (you'd walk into our shed and think we were Mormons [we're not {we just apparently have a 5-gallon-paint-buckets-with-food-in fetish}]) so I was thinking of "how to use stored food". Hmm.

I've been going back and forth, but I think I've decided I'm in. The top theme in my head right now is entertaining (including what to do for potlucks, picnics, etc) the gluten-free, soy-free, vegan way. It will give me the excuse to have people over too :)

I have my theme! Very excited about this. It's going to be 50 Shades of Kale and will include one recipe and a slightly sleazy storyline to lead into it. There will be a plot-line and a heroine. I figured I'd sign up with an category feed URL so that if I post any fall garden related stuff, they won't clutter the VMF feed. Hoping this URL works as is without the = and ? characters after the last slash: http://snarkyvegan.wordpress.com/catego ... -2012/feed

Just signed up too. Thought about not doing it this year because I'm back in school, but don't want to miss out on all the fun.

I signed up but I decided my theme just now -- fall foods. Kind of boring but I need something easy. This is a great chance for me to try out all the fall recipes in my eleventy billion cookbooks.

How did I miss your blog last year?! I'll have to sit down and wade through the backlog one of these days. It looks great! (This is me saying: keep up the good work!)

Decided on a theme. Tacos. Because that's what I'm obsessed with/eating a lot of right now.

Yum, tacos! Clearly this year will require another Herculean effort to keep up with all the awesomeness that is the Vegan MoFo.

I've been receiving random boxes of old Gourmet magazines and cookbooks from a relative who's downsizing her bookshelves, so I guess my theme will be veganizing recipes from my favorite non-vegan cookbooks and periodicals. I almost deleted my blog a few months ago and about 99% of the original content disappeared; MoFo is as good a time as any to start blogging again!

I'm thinking about doing a waffle theme: savory, sweet, decadent desert, sandwiched, waffle toppings, store-bought waffle mixes, waffle maker reviews, etc.
Would anyone be interested?

Would anyone be interested? Hell yeah. I forking love waffles. Thanks for the feedback on my themes guys... I think I'm going to do 4 countries and a specific topic per day of the week (so Mondays = appetizers, Tuesdays = soup, blah blah blah blah). I think it'll be a little less crazy and work intensive, and fit into my schedule a little better.

lobsteriffic wrote: Okay so I decided my theme - I'm kicking it old school and I'm going to do 30 days of Tofu Cookery. I'm intrigued my how much of a pioneer this book was in the world of veganism. I'm sure some things will be bland "hippy" food, but I'm looking forward to the experiment.
Luckily my supermarket has had a sale on tofu - I'm stocking up! Ooh, yes! I totally LOVE this book (and I don't even like tofu)! Even though I am the worst blogger in the history of blogging, I have been considering the revival of my Nigella blog. I've cooked a few of her recipes lately that have just been so darn fabulous. The other day I thought - Why am I not blogging these? They really are too good not to share. I think the thing that deters me most is that I only have a web cam and they don't take great photos. Plus, every picture has to be taken right by the computer because I can't move the camera around (which sucks big time). This tends to limit photo styling. Oh, well. Maybe I could borrow a camera for MoFo.

I've been thinking about it, and I've decided that I'm not going to officially do MoFo this year, as October's going to be kinda hectic for me, and I don't see how I can keep up with blogging 5 days a week. That said, even just thinking about it has inspired me to revive/repurpose my blog to do some vegan yakking and food blogging; I'll just be doing it at my own pace, and maybe next year I'll be more ready to make a go of MoFo. Still really looking forward to seeing everyone else's blogs!
