Oh, another thing that I've had problem with re: work clothing is rubber boots/wellies. I've had to wear these at excavations I've worked on and it was completely impossible to find any that fit my calves and my feet. I eventually had to buy a pair in my shoe size and cut a big gash down the middle to accommodate my calves, and then wrap duct tape around them to try to restore a modicum of waterproofing. Not nearly as effective as actually finding boots that fit! I'm sure wellies have got narrower over the past couple of decades.

World of Warcraft servers are down for no explicable reason! I might have to do something productive this evening. :(

I ate too much mac and cheese AND I'm out of beer. And I kind of want to eat more mac and cheese even though I already ate too much.

There is nothing like a power outage to turn a person into a walking first world problem. Its kinda embarrassing how after one whole day without electricity we were super whiny. And we were pretty lucky, the hurricane did no damage to our house!

There is a huge stack of chocolate chip cookies sitting on my desk but I can't eat it because I baked them for my supervisor. But she's not here yet. So for now I have to sit here being taunted by a stack of gigantic cookies.

Twitter is acting up on my work computer... something is gumming it up so that it won't fully load. I am going to have to use my iPhone to access Twitter all day!

I'm responsible for Tuesday tea and cookies in the department. I bake every Monday to share on Tuesday. I feel your pain, zwingtip.

Nooo! I can't eat one! Because I baked 6 for my grad supervisor and 6 for my actual supervisor and I can't give her fewer cookies than my grad supervisor because I love them equally!
Tea, I sympathise.

Tea, I sympathise. eat two! But I already gave one package to the grad supervisor! This was a dumb move. Clearly the smart thing to do would have been to withhold one from each pile.

i specifically left asparagus off of the pizza i made earlier (using green pepper instead, which there was already some in the salsa i used), because i was going to have leftover stir fried tofu, gluten, snow peas, and asparagus (yay greasy take out) for dinner, but now i kind of crave potatoes, especially since i went grocery shopping earlier and was super excited to get a bag of mini potatoes (a mix of yellow, red, and blue-skinned), and i can't have both.

Our soft-close toilet seat lid stopped soft-closing and now I scare myself every time I let the lid crash down.

Use the potatoes as your base instead of rice?

I'm really really hungry. This leftover food is taking too long to reheat, I don't think I'm gonna make it.

I've lost a heap of weight this year (intentionally!) which is cool but now none of my clothes fit and I can't afford new ones. And it sucks because all of my bigger clothes are really cute. I don't want to get rid of them, but they're also too big to be able to alter. Also everything on Asos at the moment is ugly.

I hate how on the new iOS update for iPhone, they replaced the old, good, I-used-it-every-day Google mapping system with some crappy new Apple maps. Where are the transit directions? I need those. So now I have to download some stupid external app I don't want? Why, Apple? Why?

Can I once, just once, google for vegan recipes and ONLY get vegan recipes? I'm sick of clicking on a link that looks like what I want, only to see it's non vegan.

My kid is going to daycare, starting October 23d. I was home for 10 months and my husband for 8 months, and I know we're lucky to have cheap daycare - etc etc... It's just so scary to let go!

it's rude to drive around before 8:30 in the morning with your car stereo turned up loud enough to rattle upper-story windows, right? it's not just me being cranky about being woken up?
