Ive been buying them for $10/lb at whole foods in the bulk bin, but I don't buy them often because they're so expensive. It was much more manageable when I had an employee discount! So where do you get yours?

Is buying them cheaply even ethical? I know it's a lot of work to harvest them.

I get them in 5lb bag for $25 at an indian foods store. They're probably not the most ethical of cashews, but I'm on a pretty tight budget and I'm happy with what I do at the moment.

I get them for $7.99 a pound prepackaged at whole foods.

Wf prices vary from region to region and even store to store. Unfortunately the whole foods in Alabama has the 365 package for $9.99. Plus 9% tax...

i think i was buying the prepackaged $7.99 bag at whole foods and the bulk nut/trail mix bar was the same price but i swear last time i went everything had gone up to $8.99. i think in the middle part of MA.

i saw bulk cashews at Wegman's but they were like $12.99 a lbs which is crazy! usually wegman's is cheaper than whole foods but not on that one.

Just FYI on the Whole Foods prices - in Philly I switched to buying the 365 pound bag because it was $8, while the non-organic cashews in bulk right next to it were more than $9/pound. Crazy when buying bulk doesn't work out!

Trader Joe's...$7/lb I believe.

A regional chain that does bulk bins...usually around $7-8 per lb.

Before that, I would get them at Trader Joe's. They have a lot of 1lb bagged nuts at good prices.

yeah, i wasn't trying to say that's how much you should be paying. just thought that maybe for some reason they were cheaper packaged than in bulk. the whole foods i go to doesn't have much of a bulk section

No problems at all, 3 orders in. I keep them in the freezer until I need them though.

local co-op 8$ a pound for organic raw pieces, I think its 9$ a pound for whole organic raw

I get mine from the "world foods" section at a somewhat local supermarket for £5.99 for 750g ($9.70 for 1.7lbs, so $5.70/pound). I'm going up to Liverpool next week when I'm going to go to a Chinese supermarket where they had them for £11/2kg ($18.5/4.4lbs=£4.20 a pound) last time I went (three years ago so it's probably gone up a bit).

So look for large Chinese supermarkets and bulk buy them like there's going to be a nuclear war.

I've ordered them twice and kept them in the pantry with no problems.

Nut shop down the road. (That sounds like I'm being flip but there really is a nut shop right down the road.)

(Australia) I buy loose raw unsalted broken cashews from middle eastern stores. The cheapest I've found in Melbourne is $11 per kg.

Just make sure you check the bins for bugs, I got home and later noticed the plastic bag was full of black bugs :( (I got fresh cashews in exchange and extra on top, yay for nice shop owners)

Trader Joes pre-packed cashews are a good dollar cheaper than at whole foods.
