-Canadians. Freals, y'all carried this thread first and foremost, like you know how to be joyful faster.
- Being in the sun on a chilly day
- The beginning of a new season (especially spring and fall!)
- Good food, especially from a garden you know. And getting to play with plants.
- Smelling flowers! Smelling the woods!
- Doggies! Gah, doggies make me happy, at least when they like me. I miss some too though that I don't see enough.
- Pretty clouds.
- Good wines and beers and fermentation fun.
- baby ears and doggie ears and playing with them if they don't bite me.
- fancy vegan ice creams
- popcorn
- Books
- hearing birds or running streams
- funny things and awesome people, like found on the PPK

I'll be back!

If you can't have Canadians, do the next best thing and pick up some discount Canadian flavour cheeze slices.

Anywho, I agree with a lot of the stuff on here (good music! kittens! Downton Abbey! popcorn!), but I'll add. . .

-laughing ridiculously hard at dumb inside jokes
-laughing ridiculously hard at dumb jokes on dumb TV shows
-strong black French roast coffee in the morning
-hot showers
-seeing leaves change color as fall begins
-lighting candles and doing stuff by candlelight just for funsies
-using stupid words like "funsies" just for funsies
-Pad Thai, especially when it is really saucy/mushy/gloopy (i am weird. . .)
-really good (and by "good" I mostly mean "spicy") Indian, Mexican, and hippie cuisine
-leisurely bike rides on long, flat stretches of country road
-awesome glasses
-really cold hard cider
-finding awesome clothing and nicknacks at thrift shops

I eat unhealthy chips in my car, too! I only felt guilty about it once but now I enjoy that I am not sharing with my daughter at all because I resent her for not eating her vegetables.

- the guy who lives in my house and keeps freaking me out with how handsome he is.
- the little lady who insists the she is not a big girl but my baby and has a heart of pure effing gold
- the ppk for being like a crowd-sourced best friend
- my favorite class right now that inspires me
- my cat who likes her little fluffy bed more than anything.
- shoes. all shoes which are vegan.
- Mrs. Meyers cleaning products. They inspired me to actually give a shiitake about my house being clean which is surprisingly nice for the first time in my life.

Doing the NYT Friday-Sunday puzzles with my mom
Ignoring my dad when he tries to make me watch tv shows about aliens and conspiracy theories; bonus points for laughing at him eating my cheesecake while being suspicious that I put tofu in everything except baked goods. He is mortally afraid of tofu. (we have routines for these things that we both enjoy)

oh wow this is such a good thread.
there are so many things that bring me joy. being alive in general is something that brings me joy, even if sometimes it feels awful, even in that awfulness I find joy because wow it's really exciting that I get to be aware and capable of processing the world around me.
but a list,

-Friends. God damn, the people who I get to call my friends are so amazing.
-Making art. I get to do what I love to do daily. I get to follow my passion in to a sleepless haze every hour of every day and that makes me so happy.
-Surprise profundity
-Complete mindless silliness
-Puns
-Riding my bike
-Reading books
-Trashy scifi TV
-Learning new things
-Strong coffee
-Communicating via notes thrown over studio walls on crumpled pieces of rag paper
-The internet, especially how it allows me to communicate with folks
-Brunch

and so much more, I will add to this list. thank you for making this thread!

I hadn't thought about this for a while, until last night. Electric blankets. A pre-heated bed. Best thing in the world.

Also,

-Cooking/baking/testing recipes
-Listening to music, finding new music that I love
-Reading blogs about cooking
-When other peoples' dogs love me
-Feeling appreciated at work
-Certain aspects of moving, like decluttering
-Thrift store mugs
-Good beer
-Meeting new people
-Having more clean laundry than dirty
-Playing Words Free with my mom

HELLO, this thread cannot die. Some of us need the smiles.

I thought of something else to add.....

someone came to visit my house and was surprised it was so tiny.
I said- look, it's exactly what I want and need....

AND IT HAS A SUNNY KITCHEN AND A SUNNY BATHROOM!! my sunny house makes me so frigging happy. It may be the size of a shoebox, but it has sun, and a bitchin garden.

Coffee, when one of my good friends asks if I would like him to make me a cup of coffee when I visit - he already knows the answer is yes, choosing fun mugs to drink coffee out of at friends houses.

My partner, especially when he makes me laugh really hard at something, or when he's extra kind when I'm blue or when he wants to show off his (ultra impressive) cycling muscles in silly ways.

Sex
Rewriting (first drafts bring me no joy)

Good ideas for projects, finishing projects
Working on bikes

Riding bikes
Warm drinks (that aren't necessarily coffee) in the fall.

My awesome friends, even the ones who never make me coffee.

more sex and more coffee
