Hello beautiful Boston PPKers! So, some of you know that I've been promising to come visit for ages and finally I have a pretty sweet opportunity to do so. My cousin's Bat Mitzvah is Nov 10, I haven't seen her in years, and she really wants me to come, so my parents have offered to pay my plane/train fare so that I can go. What I'd really like to do is come up earlier that week, either Monday Nov 5 or Wednesday Nov 7 (depending whether I can find a place to stay!), so I can have a proper visit for a few days!

So what I need is a place to stay/sleep while I'm there! To make things extra-awkward, I have a couple weird houseguesty issues that unfortunately mean I can't just stay anywhere I want. Mainly, I'm allergic to certain cleaning products that people often use in their homes -- particularly cat litter, laundry detergent, all those weird chemical-y bathroom cleaning products. I respect your right to use them, but unfortunately I can't sleep at your place if you do. I also have a sleep disorder which means that I can't sleep on an air mattress or on the floor (futons or couches are fine, though a bed would be best of course). I hate to be super high-maintenance with my weird health issues, and not be able to just couchsurf anywhere I want, but, that's what I got dealt, so I deal with it as best as I can.

I'm asking around my friends in the Boston area as well, but I'd kinda rather stay with vegans if possible...and I can TOTALLY cook delicious food for you while I'm there (and would certainly chip in for groceries!) :)

So please let me know if you think you have a place that I could stay for those few days! And if not, that's totally okay, I still love you, and I definitely want to plan a PPK meetup while I'm in town (probably Friday, Nov 9 for those who like to plan in advance!)

As I said on FB I don't have space for you to stay, but I'm really excited to meet you! I work in Boston and will try to keep that Friday evening open.

also, there's a vegan pizza place and a vegan ice cream place next to each other in allston! go to those places!

I live an hour away (and have several cats), but I'm in and out of town a few times a week and would be happy to attend a meet-up!

Actually, there's a vegan Asian place, with a vegan pizza place, with a vegan ice cream place (that has donuts) all on the same street! Then go to Cambridge and have Veggie Galaxy and Veggie Planet. Then have the vegan steak bomb from Eat At Jumbo's or stop by Clover and get the falafel and rosemary fries.

So much good food to eat and so little time! Still super excited.

Yes! That is totally confirmed though I've heard a rumor they may be going away soon. The person who makes them seems to be one of the traveller type. (based on what I've seen on her website)

Yepp, that's exactly what I was thinking. She was talking not too long ago about her bakery's last day but she still seems to be making them for Fomu currently.

Wait, WHAT? There are vegan donuts in JP?!?!

This adventure is coming together nicely!

I am planning to be in JP on Tuesday (Nov 6). I'm meeting up with a friend probably around dinnertime, so if that's a place where people are, and want to hang out earlier in the day, that could happen pretty easily (once I figure out how to get there from VFR's place :D)

I'm not getting back into JP until ~7:30 or 8 (yoga after work). :( But I could come say hello after or something if that's feasible. Otherwise, dinner friday! (And getting there-use Google maps, but my guess is it will either have you take a series of three busses or bus into Harvard, red line, orange line)

Okay friends, this is happening! CQ and I are having a hard time picking a restaurant for the meetup(Friday Nov 9th - dinner time ish) - we have talked about grasshopper and veggie galaxy. Does anyone have any thoughts, preferences or suggestions? Help us decide!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah! I am happy to eat pretty much anywhere that the PPK recommends, so pick somewhere good!

I kinda want to go to Veggie Galaxy just so we have an excuse to sit in the giant table.

heh! perfectly valid reason, ive always wanted to sit at that table too!

SO HARD! I think Veggie Galaxy is easier to get to for a lot of people, but Grasshopper is so good! And right by FoMu! Veggie Galaxy does have sundaes though. I'm not helping.

I will go to either. We'd get that large table at Veggie Galaxy though they have made a group I'm in wait until the entire party arrives before seating us, which is frustrating. (or at least like 75% of the party)
