I was wondering about the caramelized onion quiche in VB, is 3 lbs of onion really the right amount? It seems like a lot.

It's correct, it's a lot but as Bergedy says they cook down a lot. I think I was left with maybe 1/3 cup too much after filling the pie and you can still stuff that on top.

Where on the old site were the corrections listed? Was it a thread or a faq or something else?

It may be possible to find that info using http://www.archive.org/.

The 'wayback machine' on this site allows you to go back and view old websites at various points in their history. The only thing is that it can be a little erratic in terms of how much of the old site it archived on any particular day. On some days, the forums will show errors, and on others it will show quite a bit. It would help to know where to look for the corrections.

Is the batter for the sugar cutout cookies in VCIYCJ supposed to be the consistency of frosting b4 you refrigerate it? It's not really dough like and I don't want to add too much flour in case the fridge does some magic on the stuff while it's in there.

I've made the sugar cutout cookies several times following the recipe and never had any issue. If I remember correctly, the dough is very sticky before you put it in the fridge, but will firm up.

Hi everyone! Does anyone have the old cookbook errata threads or lists cached/saved you could send to me? Would be super helpful!

Thank you Fee, you're awesome!
And: does anyone else think there's too much lentils in the French Lentil Soup from Veganomicon? It says two cups, and I used that amount - the result was both rather bland and much too thick. Could it be that my lentils just swelled too much?

i have no idea if any of the cookbooks have had 2nd printings, etc.... but I'm wondering if any known errata has since been corrected in other printings????

I also wonder if the publisher, Da Capo Lifelong Books, would have an errata list???

Is there a post in this thread about the kindle edition of vegan cupcakes take over the world? All of the frosting and glaze recipes just look like white boxes (they're missing) in the edition I downloaded from amazon to my kindle app on iPad.

There are a lot of empty white boxes in the kindle edition I downloaded and I'm not sure what else I'm missing out on that the print edition has.

we had pretty exhaustive threads on these on the old boards and I think most major stuff has been taken care of by now, but if anyone has any questions about potential typos about the older books you can post them here

I bought VwaV earlier this week and it is being delivered to me today, yay! When you say the major stuff has been taken care of by now, does that mean that maybe my book that I bought has been revised (when another print was run??) and won't have any of the typos in it say back when it was first published in 2005???
