I got a $1500 grant to start up a quidditch referee training program in Australia!

My boss (who used to be vegan, but gave it up for some predictable reason that you've all heard before) wrote me out a recipe for her Caribbean Jerk rice with a sauce made from one of our ciders, and she replaced the protein with crispy fried tofu and actually even tested it for me before writing it out. So sweet of her!

i was just going to write that the best thing is:
roasted sweet potato, peeled and chunked, covered with fresh chopped garlic scapes [wrote snapes, nope] and shoyu and a little black chinese vinegar....
BUT, breaking news!
Instant summer thunderstorm, downpours, monsoon, high winds and leaking roof-- all over in 4 min. My new rain barrel is one happy camper.

A court hearing I was dreading tomorrow because my client didn't have all the information I needed to be properly prepared is no longer dreaded! I spoke to one of the other attorneys on the case and it turns out that the dad (it is a child placement case) is not doing what he needs to do to change anything, so nothing is changing really (which is what we wanted). Yay! I was so worried about it being in front of my least favorite judge and being under-prepared.

The sun!
For once the sun is out and it's above 20 degrees C and that makes me really, really happy! (I'm going to be complaining about this come January, but you know, it's been a long long winter).

From yesterday, very nice concert (clarinet, string quartet, and voice) with my girlfriends, followed by nice online chat with partner who is on vacation.

I came back v late last night from a work meeting that was very emotional (in good ways) and slept 'til 2pm. Went out with my platonic life partner and got all emotional talking about the stuff we'd learned - and reminded myself why I love this job.

Yesterday this piece I wrote about a chest binder exchange program was published on Autostraddle and today I learned that right after it was published they received $180 in donations, presumably from people who read it. Woohoo!

There's always a few crassholes if the topic is trans* stuff or bisexuality.
