I'm still on the search for some vegan yarn over here. I don't have too many yarn shops near me where I live in The Netherlands, so I'm hoping to find some good online shops in Europe where I can find vegan yarn. When I lived in the states I would just purchase cheap acrylics from the craft store, but I want to try some new fabrics and even (maybe!) make a garment. I've never made a garment before...just accessories...but I want to knit myself a sweater or cardigan before I'm 30. Given how many times I frog projects, I better start now.
Any recommendations for good sites?

I would check ravelry. A lot of people sell their off yarn in their stash for pretty cheap and I've seen quite a few European sellers. Even some US sellers might be willing to ship to Europe since you pay for shipping. If there's something in particular you want to try from the US, I would be happy to ship it to you, too!

I've been eyeing up some of the yarns here: http://www.ethniccrafts.co.uk/Not exclusively vegan but there's nettle, banana, hemp etc and it's uk based...

I like Debbie Bliss cotton yarns! I mostly get it from ebay. At one point (woah, google tells me this was about 600 days ago!) I put some yarns/shops in a google doc for interrobang?!, I can share it with you if you give me your e-mail. I should really update the thing though. Oh, and I favorited a bunch of yarns on ravelry, you should be able to find that. Couroupita's idea is also good, I've bought stash from other ravelers before too.

Hello, I've had problems with ordering yarn online too, that I have to search through a lot of non-vegan chaff before I can get to the good stuff! With this in mind, I'm in the process of carrying out some market research, with a view to starting an online vegan yarn store. If any yarn folk could complete the survey it would be extremely useful! Survey: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Q9QPBRT Thanks :)

There's one little online shop in Austria that imports this vegan corn-based yarn from the US. Haven't tried it yet but have been toying with the thought for ages. And now that I'm going to be an aunt (!!) I may finally order some to make baby clothes. http://www.in-grid.at/shop/index.php?ca ... IZing.html
