Post your Halloween ideas (and photos of the finished product) here! This year, I'll be the fabulous Creedence Leonore Gielgud, of ancient druid origins, goblin queen of Troll 2 fame.
What are you going to be?

ummm, are you single because i have a friend who'd fall head over heels. troll 2 is the single most important obsession in his life. He was in the documentary Best Worst Movie (which is about the annual troll 2 convention..)
There is usually an epic Halloween party hosted by someone in another science department every year. I'll be at a wedding at the end of October, so I hope it is being held the weekend after Halloween!
I really, really want to be Tails from the Sonic videogame just because I want to wear a fox costume and look more animated than all that sexy animal junk. Plus, I could get a sonic head hat thing and then convince my bf to wear it with a blue shirt. Hah. Nerdy matching
I'm going to be Daenerys Targaryen with this look:
I have the wig and the boots already. My friend who is a clothing designer is making the costume...I can't wait! Now I just need somewhere to actually wear it!

Bun, where do you celebrate Halloween? I've never managed to find Dutch people who get excited about the holiday, so I gave up on dressing up years ago. (After I hosted a Halloween party - dressed as The Grapes of Wrath - and everyone else showed up in everyday clothes.)

I love playing dress-up but I hate Carnaval with a passion, so Halloween all the way. It's been gaining momentum here, though I couldn't find any good parties so I decided to team up with a friend and organise one myself! My friend is hosting. We've told people that they won't be allowed in if they're not dressed up.

I have to come up with something kid-friendly for school this year.

Crack fox from The Mighty Boosh! I have all the clothing and some faux fur to make something to go on my head. And I'll probably buy some car air fresheners and syringes. The rest of the trash, I'm sure I can find around the house.
Boyfriend and I are going to be Frankenstein (technically the Monster) and the Bride of...he's already giant, so it should be pretty simple and fun. I'm debating whether to do the more bride-y look with a second hand wedding dress or the more bandaged/zombie bride look with a ripped up sheet dress. I'm kind of sad that Benny already has the clown costume, because otherwise he could be Dr. Frankenstein...probably for the best though, since having coordinating costumes with the cat may make me look like the crazy cat lady...

I have some boxes and some white paint. I think I'm going to be a block of tofu. That'll confuse the kiddos. PS. I really hate spending money on Hallowe'en costumes, hence the lame one.

I want desperately to find two other people to wear satin jammies and go as TLC with me, but I have no takers yet. So I will probably be Captain Sweatpants from Big Bang Theory for the fourth year in a row.

The only idea I have for this year is not too possible because it would require my BFF to change her costume idea to accommodate mine. Hah. BUT DAMN IT'S SUCH A GOOD IDEA:
(I'd be Bert)
Oh, also, we're both really broke right now and I'm not sure how we'd do this without getting a little spendy.

you should see it. it's really good! it's not really about the troll 2 convention. it's more about the making of troll 2 and troll 2 fandom in general. it's really good.

We spent a ton of money on our fry and leela costumes last year, so I think we're going to bring back the bee costumes and go as zombees.
That is amazing.
I think the last time I wore a costume was 2006, and it was a cheap witch costume that Brian's sister left here and didn't even have a hat. And before that in high school I borrowed a friend's leftover Hallween makeup and rubbed the green in my hair and put black around my eyes and a few people asked me if I was Beetlejuice but I just wanted old people to not turn me away from their doors.
But I keep trying to convince Brian we need a couples costume this year. My first suggestion was Lux and Poison Ivy from The Cramps:
And he said no so I suggested Leatherface and Nubbins, and I even said he could be Nubbins but no. :(
