I have won first prize in the last 3 costume contests I have been in...and I have NO IDEA what I am going to do this year. Everyone keeps asking me, they expect something cool.
Maybe I should just go as a ghost with a sheet over my head and holes cut out for eyes. The ironic ghost. Old school.

If we were to go to a party I told my boyfriend we should be Al & Peg Bundy. I can fashion a outfit from my own clothing pretty easy-like and just get a red wig...However we really do not do parties and I might just get some cute animal ears to wear around that day while I do errands! :)

Mars, I love your idea!
My costume will depend on what sort of party I end up at. I have a pirate-ish outfit that I can wear if I'm at a more scandalous party. I'm not sure what I'll wear if I end up at a more mainstream party.

I'm making a TARDIS dress. It'll be simple and fun!
I'm just going to wear Harry Potter shirt and scarf to work, because I think I lose discipline as a classroom teacher if I'm too dressed up.

You guys have great ideas. Love 'em all. I was thinking about doing Indiana Jones this year, but finding a non-leather bullwhip appears to be a bit tougher than I thought. Maybe spray paint a piece of rope and fashion my own handle out of wood or something. Also, thinking about maybe possibly going as one of the crew on Battlestar Galactica as Think Geek just came out with this awesome replica tank top. Probably just an excuse so I can spend $40 on a tank top.

I wanted to be Jerri Blank last year, but I got lazy. If I don't go the Strangers with Candy route this year, I'll probably do Bob's Burgers. Tina, most definitely.

I think I'm going to dress up as a circus ringmaster - black top had, red tailcoat, etc. Halloween is HUGE at the company I work for, so most people have already started their costumes. I'm getting behind!

My baby is going to be an elephant so, like parkerk, I'm leaning towards dressing up as a ringmaster/elephant trainer so that she and I can have a theme going on.

I always want to dress up but never get my act together!

I'm always joking that getting DP'd is less something I do for me than for the tops, and something to get the DP Merit Badge as a bottom....taking this a bit further, I'm gonna be a Cub Scout, and all my merit badges are gonna be for various sexual acts. :-)

I've seen them in those big Halloween stores too.

Help me decide! If you can't tell, I'm a music teacher! I think this is my favorite- a piano : I would get a plain black shirt and thrift store black pants and paint piano keys down the side. I could see myself wearing the shirt on a regular day. Maybe I'd paint notes down the other side if it looks too empty. Guitar: I'd get a brown shirt and paint the guitar strings on it. I'd make a giant pick out of cardboard. Maybe I'd make a hat with the tuning pegs on it. Xylophone: I'd get a tan shirt and make the bars out of brown fabric or felt. I'd really love if I could figure out how to make them make sound, but that might make people want to molest me! Violin: A long sleeved brown shirt, and I'd paint the strings and details on the front. I'd glue on jewels or rivets for the fine tuners. On one of the sleeves, I'd paint the bow, so I could "play" the strings. Maybe a hat with the tuning pegs on it. Although I guess it'd be more of a cello or a bass that way.

Also: my crush texted me last night and asked if I wanted to go as Spike and Angel for Halloween with him. UM YES! (I'd be Spike)

Starry, I love the piano idea! All of those are awesome. I have two costumes. At work (an after school program) I'm going to be Velma, with at least a few other members of the Scooby Gang represented by coworkers. My costume for as-yet undetermined Halloween plans is the Mad Hatter. I'm just going to cobble together a few pieces of ridiculous menswear and wear a teacup around my neck.

I found an old white chemise from SCA stuff that is perfect for m y bride of Frankenstein costume. And my mom had bolts and lightening earrings from when she used to do this costume. So excited! Starry, I love the piano one! Adorable!

I'm going to go as a sexy tubesock.
Not really. If I can find a sufficiently Philistine-esque head, I'm going as Judith. I've been on a murderous woman kick the past couple of years. Last year was Lizzie Borden.

Ugh he may have talked me out of it! When talking about how we'd pull it off it just started seeming ridiculous. We're both tiny faggy boys, and there are no good identifiers to make the outfits make sense, especially for angel. We'd really look ridiculous.
