*Yeah, this was supposed to be 56 miles but I blew a tire. So sad. That sucks MT. Congratulations on achieving what you did & getting yourself fit enough to do such an amazingly difficult competition. You're awesome!

It does suck, but that's the nature of the sport. There will be a next time, mostly because I have discovered that I hate "working out," but I love "training." As long as there's a race/event on the horizon, I'm happy. :)

AM- 35 minutes- elliptical, 20 minutes- abs, weights, stretching PM- 10 minutes- walk on treadmill, 75 minutes- vinyasa
Any advice for super tight hips? I've been running several times a week (about 5k/run). I used to mostly stick with different elliptical machines at the gym, but I started running outside regularly a few months ago and I can't seem to do a lot of poses in yoga that require you to hold your leg up/out for an extended period of time (i.e. warrior 3). Am I doing something wrong as far as running? Or could it have anything to do with the yoga room being specifically cold tonight? Or perhaps me not practicing as frequently as I used to?

Glute bridges. A kettlebell circuit four sets of ten double handed swings, single handed swings, cleans, snatches and push presses. Eight sets of 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off boxing, kinetic treadmill, rowing and jumping side to side over a small hurdle.

this post will be my new bff.
Today was upper body. I did a lot of incline presses (about 5 sets of 20 reps with 20lbs), some modified pulldowns at 45lbs (also 5 sets of 20 reps), squat+rows (75lbs, 20 reps, 3 sets0), 5 sets of 20 push-ups, and I ran about a mile total. Then I did some knee-ups to get a little bit of abs in there.
Tomorrow is leg day!

Beginning to workout in the mornings now as I have no time in the evenings with school. Been enjoying get up early, but does anyone else find it harder to reach the same intensity they can attain in the afternoons in the mornings? I am a morning person, but I find that I can't push through to the same levels I can in the morning...
Anyways, today was spin class and tomorrow will be another spin class as well. Maybe if I keep it up, my body will grow accustomed and I'll be able to reach the same heart rate I was hitting in the afternoons.

I'll try to take a short and slow walk. Being post-op sucks.
