I don't know if this should go here or the "feminism" thread.

It sucks how many people are saying that Kate Middleton has only herself to blame for the topless photos, because she shouldn't have been topless if she had really wanted to avoid photos being taken of her. And then to make matters worse, there are lots of nasty criticisms about her body.

Where were the photos of her taken?

On a private beach. The photographer had to crawl into a tree or fence and use a special lens. I think she had an expectation of privacy. I read she's suing the magazine that published them and it's being fast-tracked with a hearing on Monday. I hope she wins.

Yes, me too. True, she has to expect paparazzi as part of the job, but there has to be a line. She was firmly behind that line! She is not one of the celebs who deliberately go to the latest hotspot and then whine about being photographed.

That said, I think the Royal Family's approach to Prince Phillip's recent ball slip is a lot more reasonable. Just don't make a fuss about it and let it blow over.

It sounds like the pictures were taken with a long distance lens and the editor is hinting that there maybe more indiscreet ones that they didn't use.

The sentiment is great, but going into a business and vandalizing their merchandise? Not cool.

I don't see this as any different than the bible leaflets etc that people put in romance novels.

It's all pretty crappy. I hope that they do make a good stand. I mean, Harry, for instance, was partying in a room of people with his asparagus hanging out. Scummy to release the cell phone footage, but expected, I'd say. It can't be considered acceptable to breach private residences like this; this would be stalking if she weren't a public person, so what's the difference really? Shouldn't be one.

She looked amazing at the Malaysian president's dinner. Gorgeous McQueen. I wonder if she was rocking the cleavage as a fork tou to the tabloids.

the thing is that can you IMAGINE if she had tan lines? she would be crucified in the tabloids. so there really is no winning for her. i feel bad for her. tough position to be in and she seems like such a demure and private person. she must have been horrified.
