Every morning Mar and I go out at 8:10 and then come in after he scratches on the trees and go back out after he eats and the kid's are all in class at the elementary school we live behind (kids want run up and pet him - he does not like that)...
Last weekend Mar and I are walking home from the neighbor's yard when the neighbor across the street huge pitbull sees me and get all dog happy for a treat (I keep a box in the house)...He crosses the street and Mar sees him and hisses, then the other pitbull comes out (thank god he has a muzzle) and Mar got spooked and ran up a tree. We had to get a ladder out, when Matt got him down Mar was so scared he was peeing himself. I feel so bad. :(
Mar only wants to sit on the porch now. He enjoys his out door time because he is a indoor cat, plus I like him to have time to run around and scratch the trees. I don't want to push him to be outside, but I want him happy. For now we are playing in the backyard which is not as fun...Any types of 'fun' I should try, any fun exercises for a lazy-ish cat?

Give him a paper bag and a baggie of catnip. Endless hours of jumping around fun. You could also try having Mar chase toys if he likes that, it's basically then only exercise my tubs o' love get, they're so lazy.
