i went to see Give (from washington DC) the other night; total Swiz worship! they were awesome and if you were a fan of late 80s/early 90s DC/revolution summer type bands then i highly recommend you check these guys out.

I went the last time they were here, I think. Or at least I have seen them at least once in the ten years I've lived here. Saw them a bunch when I still lived back east. Anyway, always a good show, I really should have gone.

so we're selling our tickets for the negative approach show (it's oversold in a tiny venue, gonna be rammed out and horrible, not my idea of a fun night any more!) and gonna go see Kill the Client on the same night instead.

I have tickets to the Mountain Goats and John Vanderslice and Crooked Fingers and the Hold Steady.

Last time I saw the hold steady my ears freaked the fork out and they were so loud things sounded all crackly, and then my ears rang for days. This time I am prepared with earplugs.

Crystal Castles was fun, but kind of underwhelming. I wish I could be impressed by things.

I saw Antony Hegarty with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra! With a cameo by Boy George! There was a light show! It was amazing! I am still blown away by how good it was.

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu in Islington on 13 February and Gojira in Sheffield on 18 March. I'm waiting for dates to be announced for nomeansno in Derby in October and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs anywhere in the UK, probably in May. Also if Devin Townsend plays in the UK this year I'm not missing him, we didn't go to Union Chapel last year and I regret it.
