I went out for a walk in my local park and saw lots of happy dogs playing, lots of squirrels running around and this rainbow:  Then I cam home and wrote a song.

Sick cert for 2 days thanks to my hand being ordered to rest! Thumb is strapped up and can't move so lots of quality time with the TV and NO WORK!!!!!!!

Not for today, but Monday: My Tell My Mom Not To Worry photobook came! (photobook of the Appalachian Trail taken by a guy who was about 1.5-2 days ahead of me for 3/4 of the trail) I've been waiting for it for 6 months!

Best thing is actually best 10 days - I went home to Scotland! And hung out with my family!
And the icing on the cake - they went totally nuts making vegan food! My brother and sister-in-law hosted a family gathering and made a vegan feast - leek, cashew and almond tart; raspberry cranachan; lasagna; curry; shortbread; and a freakin awesome mango cheesecake! And everyone loved everything! And my big sis made falafel and apple crumble too!
I swear, I nearly cried - they went to so much trouble and spent hours (literally) wandering the aisles at Tesco to find all these random ingredients that they'd never heard of, let alone cooked with. I was blown away. So were they - they didn't know vegan food was tasty!
And absolutely the best thing? My oldest sister, who has high cholesterol and high blood pressure, had no idea about the health benefits of eating vegan, so she's going to give it a try!

Wow Wallace22, that sounds like an awesome time! Good on your family, and good luck to your oldest sister!
Best thing of today is hard to pinpoint because the whole day was awesome. Sunshine, snuggles, excellent food, all the very best of life. Yay!

This week I'm doing a clay plaster installation on the ceiling of a fancy restaurant being opened by the owners of a fancy cheese-and-other-specialty-items-but-mostly-cheese store. Today I got a free sandwich from the store next door to the restaurant, and was delightedly surprised to find that they have a vegan sandwich on their menu that is even marked as such! It was delicious, too- white bean spread, marinated peppers, field greens and olive tapenade. Omnomnom. I love doing projects at restaurants!

My stupid court case was dismissed! With prejudice, so they can refile later, but they probably won't. I celebrated with donuts from Fritz Pastry. Pomegranate and chocolate-coconut-almond. Super nom! And the guy at the counter told me that Fritz's is owned by the same people as Wormhole, this coffee shop near my house, and Wormhole sells Fritz donuts. Now I don't have to trek all the way to Lakeview when I need a donut fix. This is the best news I've gotten all week!

there was a vegan thanksgiving potluck at my university today, hosted by the vegetarian and multi-faith resource groups on campus. so much good food (tofurky, stuffing, salads, dumplings, brownies, apple pie, cookies, ice cream), and awesome conversations about veganism.
absolute best? i'm struggling with an eating disorder, and that awful voice that would usually have me denying myself all of the food was mostly quiet, because i was more focused on the interactions with likeminded people.

2) My Amanda Palmer @ Paradise Rock Club ticket came
3) I bought plane tickets home for said concert and paid way less than expected
