 We were talking about it in the fake duck thread, and there's a recent ppk blog post. This was sent to me in that huge package a friend sent me a few months ago, and I just recently used it. So good! Made a 'broccoli beef' type sauce. If you have access, you should try it!

I feel inspiredddddd So is this stuff just at any decent Asian market? And is there a section of it, or would it be tucked away in an odd place on its lonesome?

Real abalone is very expensive and diving is very restricted. I went to China Town today and the cans of the real stuff sell for about $40 and were held behind the counter in a glass cabinet. Looks like a good meal by the way!

It looks great. I learned what abalone was in the 4th grade when I had to read "Island of the Blue Dolphins" about 10 times because I kept switching schools. I might try the mock stuff but I never wanted the seafood, hehe.
