When you write a whole paper on Prop L and you don't live or have any stock whatsoever in San Francisco. You just know a whole lotta bout it from your internet friends.

How about when you are out somewhere hanging out with live people and you are thinking about how much nicer it would be to be home ppking?

This happens more than I'd like to reveal. If my IRL friends didn't spend all their time talking about all the exotic animals they like to eat I might think about it less.

Haha, I do this too. And I often use the phrase "the vegans are in an uproar"

We'll be watching Glee or Project Runway or Top Chef and my husband ..who doesn't PPK but has met PPkers at meet ups...will say "I bet the PPK is in an uproar about this." or "What does the PPK say about this?"

Also I can't bring myself to order the Shitake Cakes at Kaya's Kitchen cause you know they must contain Shitake.

I used the stroganoff today. My friends just looked at me blankly. Even more so when I try to explain.

And when I'm telling people about things on the PPK is usually sat, "The vegan community is..."

1. You spend more time on the PPK while at work than you actually spend on work.
2. You actually start saying "forking", "shiitake" and "crasshole" in real life.
3. You refer to PPK members by their PPK names when talking about something someone posted. For example, I had a conversation with a friend the other day about a recipe I saw that someone had posted. Instead of just saying I saw the recipe online, on the ppk, or wherever, I actually say "(insert random ppker here) posted it" as if I know them in real life or expect the person I am talking to to know what/who the hell I am talking about
4. The PPK is your first point of reference for all things vegan. And the first place you go to ask questions.
5. The PPK offers better support than any other person, website or an actual support group.

7. The PPK is the only website where you are excited and willing to meet random internet people in real life. We are vegan, we can't be serial killers, right?

I'm sure there are tons more and it's not a bad thing, I'd be lost without you, my dear PPK!

These plus the majority of my FB friends are now from the PPK

Yes, this! No one around here is vegan anyway, so everyone in real life doesn't even know where I get all of my information from... shhhh it's YOU. All of you.

I was in the city yesterday and someone walked by yelling "I can't believe he went and got a nasty-ass bowl cut! If he really wanted a bowl cut I could have given him a GOOD one at home in my bathroom!" and I thought I had entered the twilight zone in which PPK filters had invaded Real Life. (The person was actually literally yelling about the hair cut in the shape of a bowl, not the oral sex activity.)

My husband started referring to being on the PPK as punking. So basically I am punking all the time. Also, I will tell him, "those punkers said..." if I want to tell him something I learned on the PPK. And like others have mentioned, I will tell people that things I learned on the PPK are things my friends said.

I like this. I think we should start calling ourselves PoPunKers (pronounced like puh-PUNKers).
