What was the best thing about your day?

Took the day off for an appointment with a suspension specialist. (for my motorbike)

New progressive fork springs, bearings, seals and fork oil. Not cheap but the bike already felt better on the way home.
(drove to their shop, could borrow their tools to remove the fork legs and after they serviced the fork I put the fork back on the motorbike)

So nice to have a proper place to do some mechanical work and to actually do something with noticeable results instead of "pushing paper" at my "real" job.

saw one of my best friends ever and her mom completely unexpectedly! they live in philly, I live in maine, she just called at 10am and asked if I wanted her to buy me breakfast and it was the exact best thing that could have happened this morning.

The replacement psychiatrist decided today that it is work that is the problem and not my mental health. Just that simple process of someone believing me makes me feel a bit more in control of my life.

That and meeting up with a few more vegans for some food and a big long chat.

I GOT MY MOTHERFLIPPING BISON TATTOO TODAY AND IM FREAKING OUT ITS SO GREAT.

I can't wait to take the bandage off and show ya'll. I'm so excited I'm almost crying. And the dude who did it is amazing, and part way through the tattoo he was like "did you pick me because of my bison tattoo?"... I didn't know he had a bison tattoo! It's on his arm too, as is mine! Then when describing why I picked him I think it made him really happy and he started from there on to get really chatty, asking me about myself and stuff... and even said we should do a trade at some point for a tattoo and a floral arrangement "or whatever, really"! WHAT. LUV.

My fiance turned up safe! He was on an off-roading motorcycle ride gone very wrong and through a series of events, found lovely people who helped him get in contact with me and the sheriff who drove him to a larger town where I could pick him up. See the "worst thing about your day" thread for more details... but yeah! Hooray for nice people in this world who will open their door after midnight to someone in serious need of help. Most people today wouldn't do that because they'd be afraid it was some sort of trick.

All in all today was lovely. Sunny run during the late morning, haircut, manicure/pedicure, yummy dinner, and a big ginger snap and hard cider. I feel so full and groomed!

Amazing day with a law school friend whom I haven't seen in 7 years. We caught up so easily, it was like we were still at school together. The weather was perfect, we had so much fun together and Leela was adoreable. I wish she didn't live in London, I really miss her now we've reconnnected.

amazingly awesome new type of beer (worth the $10/bottle price)!!

and a get together with a totally new group of expats! nice people, every one. was a bit weird to go in not knowing a single soul, but it was good.

and a nice hot day driving with the windows down.... large translation DONE and i am going to bed.

ALSO, window screens installed!!!!! yay! (they aren't common here in BR, despite the 500 types of mosquito born diseases here, but it is worth hunting them down, as the kid has allergies to mosquito bites). we've not slept with the windows open since we've been here, it will be delightful.

Richard speight jr and Matt Cohen (supernatural) hugged me and I have a x-m'as tree drawn by Matt Cohen and signed by him and then I got Richard to sign it and he said Matt draws bad trees and signed it. There are no words for how wonderful this day has been.
