So I was looking up gluten-free flour and found this:
http://www.glutenfreeflour.com/ingredients.aspIt lists the ingredients as "blended flour of rice and tapioca flours, xanthan gum, and kosher approved unflavored gelatin".
I had read somewhere (one of those wiki-answers type sites, not necessarily a reliable source) that some gelatin is rice based and not animal based.
Is this true? I though that all gelatin was animal derived? If it was plant based I’d think that they'd call it something else lol
I am very new to gluten-free stuff so I thought this may be one of those things that you just learn along the way...
Also, is gelatin in flour a common thing? I never thought to check the ingredients on flour…
Thanks :)
